Ex-ICEsavers - where now?
Comments
-
I'm going to keep mine in the current a/c for the short term. Then I'm thinking NS&I only problem is I have to work out the tax deduction (income bonds have instant access as well) not the best interest but secure for now.0

my 'instant' savings from Icesave, when they appear, are going in my Smile savings a/c & the majority will be used to pay up to £10k off our mortgage.
seems the better option with low savings interest rates at the moment - plus i'm completely fed up of trying to find somewhere 'safe'! when you start really looking into it & finding out who owns who & what their risk rate is, even the under the mattress concept started looking a good bet!!0 -
My icesave cash isn't going into another bank. When I get it back, i'm buying a car now i've finally passed the test.0

not sure where to put it im looking for a guarented rate. nothing worse than opening an account and within a month or so its dropped to a crappy amount of intrest. anyone know of any accounts with a guarented (sp?) rate. want to keep in a uk bank aswell. also have an ISA. but the whole natwest thing of having to open up a current account is abit of a turn off also i dont want to invest with them if they are still conencted to huntingdon sciences0

I'll be needing the money for a house deposit early next year, so if Halifax is still offering 7% fixed for three months I'll be putting it in one of them.

On the issue of supporting home-based institutions in an effort to stabilise things here, did'nt the Bradford BS have to merge with the Yorks recently, as a consequence of losing a lot of money in Icesave?0
-
Sorry, for Bradford read Barnsley.0
