Just a quick update from me - I absolutely LOVE my Riva. I've tried lots of juices now but keep going back to the menthols, the stronger the better :-) My morning cough and chestiness has gone completely in just two weeks, I no longer smell of cigarettes all the time, my sense of taste is heightened and I don't miss cigarettes in the slightest. I lit one up in the car when my battery run out last week and had to chuck it away after a couple of drags because the taste was no-where near as good as it is with my e-cig. Filling the cartos is a doddle once you get the mouthpiece off and replace it with a drip-tip, Geminilady, it's a 10 second job. Each carto has lasted about a week and I don't even know whether they need replacing at that point, I just replace it anyway. I smoked about 15 cigarettes a day which will give you an idea of how that would relate to you.
I got fairly high nicotine strength (18-20mg) to start with but my new order for ejuice is the lower 8mg one as I'm sure I'll be fine with that now. It's all about the taste as well as the nicotine thwack.
Still can't quite believe it - never wanted to give up and now I get all the good things I like about smoking and lose all the bad - miracle!!!!11th Heaven prizes Number 103

Wow, Green, it's so much more valuable when a new 'vaper' posts their experience - especially when it's as good as yours
Thanks so much!

Green thanks very much for the info. The Riva does seem to be the most recommended so think I will get one when I have used up my ecigs.I too could not believe how "cig "like they are.All smokers should try them,as you say all the pleasure but none of the nasties0

Hi, I have ordered 2 of the titans that Veronarona mentioned.
I have had a considerable health scare that lasted for a month but Im ok all benign just an op and I will be back to normal! However, I cannot go through that again so am giving up.
If I have any questions I know I can come on here or the other board and I thank you now because I bet I will have some silly ones!!
Take care all and cant wait to start vaping!!0 -
veronarona wrote: »For anyone wanting to get started with a cig-alike style electronic cigarette, I have just received news that The Electronic Cigarette Company (TECC) have reduced their 1-battery Titan kit to £12.50 plus delivery. This kit includes a small bottle of juice. I strongly advise purchasing TWO kits, then you'll have 2 batteries and 2 atomisers and plenty of juice and spare cartridges to keep you going long enough to get in good practice.
There's a video tutorial if you scroll down on this page:

Once you've got started, investigate cartomisers to replace the cartridges, and more juice, and a lip-friendly drip-tip... and if you like the model and don't want to change up, also investigate a "PCC", which is a charging kit you can carry around with you.
I've just found this thread! Following the success of a workmate of mine giving up smoking with e-cigs I started looking around the net yesterday and I found the special offer above, so quickly ordered one. after more looking aound and realising how expnesive all the parts can be I ordered another one lol!
Now some questions, if you don't mind (i'm getting very confused at all i've read on the net) What is the difference between a cartomiser and a cartridge? And, what is a drip tip? I watched the id, but in reality how easy is it to refil these and how often do you need to do it? Are you better filling up a few to carry around?
my workmate is using this e-cig and thinks it's very good
http://www.nicolites.co.uk/store/starter-kit/
I've noticed, however that these types of kits don't seem to get good press and I feel could possibly work out expensive? Obviously I want to do this for health reasons but I don't want to spend more than I do at the moment which is about £12 per week on rolling tobacco.
i will definitely check out the forum that has been mentioned, but I may leave it a few days as my head is reeling with all the info and new jargon surrounding e-cigs0 -
I've just received my e-cig!
I have joined the suggested forum and tried to post this message but there seems to be a problem?
'Hi, someone recommended this forum over on MSE, it looks very useful
I've just recieved this
http://www.theelectroniccigarette.co.uk/products/discontinued-products/titan-510-compact-kit-just-2499-product.html?eref=mail
I've followed the instructions that came with it and dropped a few drops of fluid on the cartridge. when i put the battery on it's making a strange gurgling noise and not producing much vapour! Is this normal, or have I filled it wrongly?
The Vid I watched yesterday the guy seemed to take the 'stuffing' out the cartridge and then put quite a lot of drops on? It doesn't say to do this in the instructions! Confused!
Sorry about the quick fire questions, i promise to introuce myself properly later! I need to go to work very soon and I manted to take my new e-cig with me!'
Can anyone here help?0 -
Another one who has taken the plunge and decided that I have just got to stop smoking, not only for my health but my purse. Ordered a start kit (great value btw) and just waiting for it to arrive. Few questions, how long does the 10mg bottle of juice last for? How often do I replace the mouth peice? And last of all at the mo, should I get spare batteries?
I'm hoping I can get on with this, the patches worked for a while, but due to stress with work I fell off the wagon and started again, since then have tried patches, inhalators, lozenges and the spray but to no avail, still puffing away. Hopefully the e-cig may be more hepful.total airhead, total bimbo, very superficial:D0 -
well i'm on day 3 of my e-cig...i haven't had a fag for 2 days....WOW thats a MIRACLE!....i've had a couple of problems getting used to it but the seller has been more than helpful as was the allabout forum! but i've eventually got there.
the thing that is great for me is the fact that it totally replaces my addiction with more than a satisfactionary result..the taste is strong and its vapours beautifully....i am not missing the fag at all with this diamond piece of equipment... i would recommend it to anyone!Give blood - its free0 -
