Well done mum2one for reporting the knitPat site as spam - I've just had a quick look and, as they are selling PDF copies of patterns (to be emailed to the buyer) they must be infringing copyright - as well as doing the original pattern designer out of royalties. I'm surprised they're happy to give out their address on the site!
I actually recognise some of these patterns and think it's a shame that someone can make money off the hard work of talented (and probably poorly paid) designers. I've tried to write my own pattern in the past - it's very hard work!0 -
Anyone know where I can download a pattern for the loopy baby cardigans that were popular years ago? I've hunted everywhere0

I am just about to learn t knit and crochet and is there any information that will help teach me. I also dont have a printer so is there any sites that will send you the patterns for free. Where can i get cheap wool from
Thanks allfor any of your help and advice0 -
I don't know where you can get sent paper patterns for no cost, but if you look on page one of this thread, on the Knitters Thread and on the Knit your Square to give Your Share thread on the Old Style forum you'll find lots of tips for cheap wool sites and free pattern sites - I suppose that you could always copy them out?

Charity shops sometimes have cheap wool - and even cheap hand knitted jumpers can sometimes be undone quite easily (obviously depending on what you are knitting, but will certainly give you a cheap way to practice)0 -

Sadly, the cost of balls of wool have outweighed the ready made jumpers now but if anyone has a cheap wool source, I'd love to know. knitting has recently been recommended for depression sufferers and also hyperactivity can be channelled with knitting.
Try googling Black Sheep Wools. They always have a good sale on yarn and often have designer label yarns at greatly reduced prices. Also look on Ebay. You can get joblots and single balls there for a reasonable price. Hobbycraft is another option. My local store has quite a good selection of yarns.
It's a shame that yarn is so expensive nowadays as it means that all the nice wee local yarn shops are fading out. I have a fab LYS and try to support it when I can. She does have some very good deals in there, and if you explain that you can't afford a hugely expensive yarn, she will try to find a reasonably priced substitute.0 -
I know its not posh wool, but does the job, Wilkinsons, they have 100g ball double knit, and baby double knitting (bit softer), 99p for 100g.
Theres not a big range, but about 10 colours available.xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
