I'm a northener and I like Anchor, spread about an inch thick on a doorstep of HM bread
My equally northern DSis, on the other hand prefers Lurpak in a barely there scrimped scraping
Luckily, we don't share a house or there would be butter wars every breakfast time :rotfl:0 -
Definitely Lurpak for me - and I'm Sussex born and bred, no Northern blood in me!0

Tesco own brand butter is usually cheaper than branded butters and I can't tell the difference.0

I go for whatever is on offer, but tend to prefer Anchor or Countrylife.
I lived in Belgium for 2 years and wasn't keen on their continental style (President included) butters. They don't put as much salt into them I found, and their bread was unsalted too, so very bland.
I can tolerate Lurpak though now, although years ago couldn't. I think it's more about what you've grown up with. Our house was always Anchor. One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
I think its all personal preference. I mainly use butter for cooking and occasionally on crumpets so go for Tesco Value unsalted, though will get branded (anchor or lurpack) if on offerMum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0

I can't find it online. I think it ight be local only, it comes as a round pat. Delicious.de do-do-do, de dar-dar-dar0 -
Shergar butter is sold in my local ASDA supermarket - not noticed it in others though. Maybe I just don't look around so much in other stores
