Just checked my ISA and it has interest paid up to 10 Oct 2008 now! The figure seems too low though. By my calculations it's £11 short.
I thought the same - until I realised that the money into the ISA was paid in by cheque (from my previous provider).
If you adjust your calculation by 2-4 days less (depending on whether there was a weekend in the period), it works out just fine.
HTH - may apply to others as well.0 -
Hi guys
Logged in this evening and have also seen the following changes:
- interest added to one easy access and two fixed term accounts on 10th October (ie all my Icesave accounts)
- interest added back to the easy access as it had been showing as paid to external account in early October
- "view account details" option just gives a blank screen on all three accounts
- nominated account details are still present; DD details in current account also still present
My fixed term accounts were meant to mature on 15th October so I've got letters telling me how much interest I was going to get on maturity. What they've added appears to be approximately these amounts (I can't check the letters at the moment), so that's good - I'm assuming it's the quoted amounts less a week's interest.

Just checked my ISA and interest added to 10/10. I for one will be satisfied just to get my deposit back. I took the risk without ever considering that the Icelandic government would default on their committments, so at the end of the day we live and learn. I would say a word of thanks for Alistair Darling, at least he did'nt hang us out to dry like a bunch of Icelandic cod.0

Today I've called the helpdesk number asking for my UserID, because I have lost it and I would like to check my account to see how the things are going, but they have told me that they can't send it by post at the moment and it may be possible in two weeks.
Has anyone been able in the last days to receive his user ID calling the helpdesk?
Thanks,
Davide0 -

There is a completely-online way to reset your password and it still works - have done it just last week for my Mum. Just log onto icesave, put in your ID and click "reset password"...your are walked through the easy process.0 -
Interest up to 10th Oct added to my fixed rate bond due to mature on 30th June 2009. I was under the impression that we were going to get the option to let our account mature? Not complaining though, if we have to go elsewhere for a lower rate now, I'll take that as I'm just grateful to get our money back0

I wonder whether interest has been added to calculate the total liability of Icesave at the date of default and this may have no bearing on whether the fixed deposits will run to maturity or will receive interest to that date.0

Hi ppl.
Same here. My three year bond maturing on 12/08/11 has had interest added net of tax to the "new" maturity date of 10/10/08. Have printed off this statement as proof of my cleared balance ready for BACS transfer to my linked account. This could be done now, if they simply re-opened Icesave's procedures, but I guess I'll have to wait for FSCS to authorise it. Every day means loss of interest from 10/10/08 but, hey, so pleased at the prospect of retrieving funds at all that it's a small price to pay.0 -
