  • Yup, mine too has been changed to 10/10/2008. I guess we will be receiving our funds back sooner than expected then!

Yes, I also noticed this on my FTD today.....

....well the fscs note 8 on their site still states that interest on fixed term accounts will be paid up to the end of the term. But these people seem to do what ever they like....note post re update dated 17th October is missing from previous update section ( last one shown 10th october) anyone have a copy of the 17th october update?

  • Apologies for cross-posting, I only just found this more specific part of a forum...

On the night of Oct 5th I rang Icesave to see if we could transfer our savings and were told no problem. I was told if we took everything out our account would be closed. Of course, the money has not gone through and now I can't log into Icesave so we are greatly worried that we will be overlooked in any compensation as we may have gone off the radar. Luckily I printed out the Icesave balance and have my other bank records showing that nothing has gone in, but I wondered if anyone else is in the same position????? There don't appear to be any FAQs relating to our situation. It is a massive worry.icon9.gif Please if you in similar scenario leave a message. Thanks!

Yeap, My fixed rate bond expires on the 10/10/08 as well (changed from 31/12/08) does that mean that money is being returned along with the rest rather than held to the original maturity date with full interest?
Had £80,000 in Savings - All GONE!!! BYE BYE

I originally closed my account and was locked out, however, if you go on to the log on page, after entering your user ID, click on reset password, you will be given part of a new automatically generated password. The remainder of the new password will be emailed to you. You can then log on as normal with the entire new password, which you will be prompted to change once logged on (don't try changing it back to your old password). You should then see that your account has been re-opened with the bounced back funds. There won't, however, be any transaction history.
  • Will try out now. Hope it works! A big thanks to you...
  • Nope it didn't work :( Wonder what to do now icon9.gif

When you’ve received the first half of the new password that was issued by clicking reset password and the second half of the password by email, you enter your user ID, then enter your newly acquired password, and then click log on (not re-set). If that didn’t work I’d ring Icesave on 0191 255 8377 (it’s the geographic alternative to their 0845 605 6050 number, so will be cheaper).
