I've just seen the dates on these posts. Has this problem not long started?

There have been cases that cheap christmas lights can knock off a broadband connection (this is really not a joke even though it may sound like it). If your troubles started about the time you switched on your lights, try turning them off and see what your broadband connection is like.

You can read more about this HERE or HERE (and quote)..........

Dodgy Christmas lights are being blamed for knocking over broadband connections, with imported flashing lights that don't meet UK electrical standards fingered as the worst offenders.

As a result, BT Wholesale has written to ISPs warning them to be on their guard over the festive season.

"It has come to BT's attention that an extremely small percentage of seasonal lighting, which can be used both internally and externally may cause interference with the broadband service.

"When the lighting control unit is set to any mode other than a steady state it may generate high levels of radio frequency noise and may cause the broadband service to lose synchronisation.

Sorry for the delay in replying, only just looked in.

I've gone to F2S,basically because they offer a monthly contract,so if I get sick of them,I ditch them.Simple.

So far there have been relatively few problems. On the odd occasion, the speed has been down a bit,but it's no worse than Tosscali, and when it's up to scratch,I can hardly keep up with the speed!!!!!

    Hi Ken

I moved to Zen, again month per month so I can ditch if no good. How much are you paying a month?

Zen 2MB is £27 odd quid i think
