Anyways hope this helps, otherwise you have 14 days to cancel your contract if its not too late.
but i'm soooo  as wanted to cancell tiscali but was told it was too late so i'm stuck for another 11 months with them. I've got my connection 11 days after calling them and ordering. so i thought 14-days trial starts from the moment you r on-line. nope :mad:0 -
Also having the same problem with disconnection using Tiscali and agree they are crap
However you mention needing to plug the filters into ALL the BT telephone sockets. Please confirm you only need to plug them into any telephone socket that you are using eg. phone, skybox and that any used BT sockets dont require a filter pluged it
ThanksSmile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0 -
USB ADSL modems are supposedly not the best connection methods according to what I've read elsewhere - something to do with the fluctuations in voltage of the USB slot?
My mother uses Tiscali and has no trouble at all to be fair - she did have some infrequent disconnections with her Sagem USB modem but is now running a 3com wireless router/adsl modem combo (ethernet connection method) which is "always on" and the connection never drops at all - well so far anyway!0 -

Using a Belkin wireless system. Line drops continually.
I wa sure it was only sockets with equipment plugged in but am willing to try anything.

I've been using Tiscali broadband with a Sagem modem about six months now - very reliable for me, super fast. Maybe Tiscali are selective which customers they like to give good service to, or connection issues could just be a local problem...am I missing something ??0

DON'T ENTERTAIN TISCALI!!!!!
If you are about to sign up to them, take a tip from someone who's been there, and spend your hard earned elsewhere.
If you have a contract with them, then ditch it after it is up.
Tiscali will blame everyone else for their shoddy service but themselves.
I'm not being funny here, and I do hope your mum gets her connection sorted, but if anyone subscribes to Tiscali, and has problems, then they only have themselves to blame, because there are plenty of people out there on many forums, who tell you the same thing.....
TISCALI ARE CRAP.
Ken.
Wholeheartedly agree. Keep calling them every time you have a problem and GET OUT! Thats just what I did, and after a few months you can request to be released from the contract at no charge as they have broken the technical side of the contract. I was actually told to do that by a member of staff at Tiscali and it worked. In my opinion, and from my experience, it doesnt matter what Tiscali tell you, they wont change! Good luck....0 -

About a year ago, they started migrating customers off the BT network they were using, onto their own network, in order to save cost. However they cut corners and chucked in a 2Mb line and throttled the line speed down to whatever customers were paying for, rather than putting in a network that was appropriate for the service........our village is so far from the exchange that only a 512K or 1Mb line gives a reliable service. Hence connections problems for as long as it takes for them to move you back onto the BT network......months if you get the idiots who send you a new modem and ask you to change your filters and ask you to re-enter your password etc etc.illegitimi non carborundum0 -
Does anyone know if Tiscali support MAC (migration)
Yes they do,that's how I got rid of them.
I'm now on F2s,and they don't charge either if you migrate to them, and take the 1 month contract.
Ken.That's my mutt in the picture above.0 -
Managed to get out of my Tiscali contract early and get a MAC code.
just lik everyone says on this forum STAY CLEAR OF TISCALI
I joined them as the price was sub £20 for 2MB service, Its rubbish and tech support is even worse
so armed with my new MAC code, is ZEN the best?Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0
