I had a day off yesterday so didn't read any posts etc- just catching up now, I phoned the number suggested by ING spokesman, and for the first time I felt that someone was concerned on the other end of the phone, they actually took proper details and looked into my account. No assurances of when it would be sorted though, but i feel a tad better.

Yes, but surely that is the service we all should have received from the start but didn't. If they couldn't access our accounts we needed to know why when this all went pear shaped weeks ago. It was very frightening to have sums of money disappear from one account and not reappear for weeks (for us lucky ones!) and ING refusing to take a responsible and informative response to our enquiries. In a funny sort of way the Icesave situation is not so worrying as we can still see our balances in their system.

I agree. Even before the recent good news on Icesave, I was less concerned about that situation than I was with K-E (and I have 4 times the amount in Icesave). What irritated me no end about the K-E situation was that nobody was able to let me know that my transfer was actually being dealt with. All they could say was that the transfer request was logged on their system and that a chaser would be put through to the relevant department but there was no guarantee any action action would be taken to expedite. I still haven't seen any fundamental change in this situation from the reports coming in recently. People are merely saying that the K-E staff are polite and promising to chase, but is anybody listening in the payment section? This is where a clear, unambiguous assurance is required urgently.

Good morning guys, I too don't want to clog up your thread, but I just want to confirm my support to you all. As promised I will help you all shout louder on Monday, if they fail you again, whatever it takes! I know it's a really hard time for you, and that to be given constant Friday deadlines does nothing to subdue your fears and anxieties, because of their past record, but rest assured WE WILL KEEP FIGHTING FOR YOU AND WITH YOU...
    Money requested 08/10, left KE 22/10 - Arrived 24/10
  • Well lets see what tomorrow brings

  • Below quotes from secure messages I received in response to asking where my money was and when I could expect to receive it?

    "Dear Mrs ...........
This is the information has been put on our website
We have been working hard to clear the back log of payments and the vast majority of these have now been made. However, there are a small number of payments which we have been unable to process so far due to administrative issues within Kaupthing Edge.
Kaupthing Edge in the UK is being run by Administrators and we have now received their confirmation that all outstanding payments will be released by Thursday 23 October and we would expect these to start arriving in the destination bank account on Friday 24 October.
ING Direct and the Administrators would like to apologise once again for the delay in resolving this issue.
Your money is safe and secure and our priority remains to restore normal service to all customers.
If you have any further queries, please contact us on 0845 1 31 32 34."

when this didn't happen I sent another message on Friday asking where my funds were:

QUOTE - from secure message sent to me on Friday by Kaupthing Edge / ING

" We have been advised by ING this morning that the backlog of external payments on or before the 20th October have now been cleared. You can expect to receive your funds by Monday at the latest.
If you have any further queries, please don''t hesitate to contact us on 08451 31 32 34.

    Yours sincerely,

    Customer Services
    Kaupthing Edge"

Does this sound familiar? Let's hope this time they got it right?

Whilst having my annual bath this morning I came up with two more theories to throw into the arena. Hope you’re listening dag?:

    Thoery 1

    My money History:

Halifax (BACS) > KE then KE CHAPS (£20 deducted) > Halifax

I wondered if people still waiting for their money changed their linked bank?

    Theory 2

Our account details could be held on many servers at KE. The administrators could be interrogating each server in turn. This could explain the randomness of it all.

None of this excuses the lack of communication we have received but may offer an explanation.
  • Hello List. It looks as tho there are now 72 of us not received money on the Poll above,2 more than yesterday. Does anyone have the up-to-date numbers? And does anyone know how many there of us waiting nationwide, out of interest? Did I hear there were 142 or is that a figment of my imagination?

  • Hmmm... thanks HomeTune for this update. I hope the numbers start dropping this week.

I wonder how many peeps in the UK are waiting altogether ....? How can we find out.

It seems the 7th/8th scenario is the common factor. If we've worked this out, then SURELY KE and ING have too!
