    IMPORTANT UPDATE:

After seeing my note above re press... I got a call from ING Direct to try and run through with me what's going on. Below is my interpretation (and some reading between the lines) of the exact score right now.

    The Dates Are Crucial

While ING has taken over the savings business, the processes of Kaupthing Edge are in the hands of the adminstrators Ernst & Young . Any transactions made after 8 Oct were therefore for ING customers before were Kaupthing customers.

If the transaction is Kaupthing then it is a question of information from the adminstrators that is needed and ING are simply the processors, if it is after the 8 then it is ING.

So far 57,000 payments have been processed, but as we know above some remain.
    • Payments between 9 & 24 October.

ING was rather suprised when I said there are 8 people waiting for money at this date. If you're one, you're hopefully in the easier to sort group and ING should be able to do so. The message again was call the helpline and ensure you let them know your payment was AFTER 8 October.

The mention was this is simply due to glitches or wrong account numbers that are suffered for all paymetns from any bank. I asked that the phone team were told specifically that post 8 October transactions are easier to sort and they should be aware of the difference in situation.
    • Payments on 6, 7 and 8 October

Apparently 57,000 payments have gone through, but that's no solace for the 90 odd people on this thread without their cash. The money for the payments before Kaupthing was transferred lies with the administrators not ING.

Reading between the lines, this is an issue of waiting for the administrators to sort through, and inform ING of the necessary payments to be made.

I have a suspicion there's an "holding the party line" issue here, but ING are frustrated that the info isn't getting to them and they're fielding the flack.

While this is unpalatable, for all of you waiting, this seems to be a situation of thumb twiddling waiting for the info to come. I'm not quite sure what I can suggest here.

Certainly if anyone is in severe difficulty without access to the money (ie CCJ/mortgage arrear because of it) let me know and I will try to see if any special arrangement can be made (though pls dont do it frivilously).
I wish i could write something more concrete, but I hope at least an understanding of the process will aid it a bit more.

    Martin

I made 4 BACS transfers on the 7th and received 2 of them on their 17th deadline. If transfers requested on the 6th, 7th and 8th "lie with the administrators not ING"; then, how did I get my two BACS transfers requested on the 7th? and why I did not get the other two?

Again, ING is prepared to feed us any stories. The reality is that they have no clue and no credibility. We must stop creating theories and debate them intensely in this forum based on ING’s nonsensical excuses.

After Martin’s posting above, he got 27 (and counting) “thank you, you just gave us some more hope” follow ups. That’s exactly what ING wants. They want the +90 of us to keep debating, venting-off and give each other hopeless hopes… in this enclosed forum. And they’ll do anything they can, including calling Martin directly, to avoid this issue to get media coverage. (Why can't they be just as proactive and aggressive getting our monies back!?)

We must break their loop and get the story out of this forum.

If the administrator (Earnst & Young) story is true, then let's tell the media how an incompetent administrator is creating mayhem to ING and a number of savers... but let's get this story out of this forum!

I agree, As Martin says, it's like pushing against a brick wall at the moment. If some media attention can be gained, at least it's pushing that little bit harder

With enough force behind it, that wall will come tumbling down!

Thanks Martin, I am waiting from 7th and my nominated account number was wrong, now corrected, but my receiving bank do not have any record of the money ever arriving I assume it was frozen in KE clearing bank Nat West, when our government froze all icelandic transactions. KE have initiated a recall which the call center says there is no time scale on and will be further extended because the administrators will call the tune. Looks like I will be last man standing. Must come out in support of the work the call center staff are doing, the two girls I have dealt with were most sympathetic, informative and polite in the face of what must be a bad situation for them as well.

    Just a note.

About "when martin starts shouting". I am shouting, just not on the TV. Remember this thread is being ACTIVELY monitored by ING Direct, hence the speedy response to my note about giving it to the papers.

Im not sure even if it were on the front of the NOTW whether it would make ay difference. The pressure is there in full right now (trust me i can feel it when i talk to them) and its important to keep it up. Yet there gets to a point where you're pushing a brick wall.

As said before neither Dan or I will give up before everyone has their money, and I know how effective this thread is - so keep up talking about it. And it'll get there.

    Martin

Thanks Martin. Have just received the following by email. I do not have the words to express my reaction...or at least none that are either lady like or printable!!!

''Thank you for your e-mail. ING Direct is aware that some customers have
experienced problems when trying to deposit/withdrawal money into their
    Kaupthing Edge Account.

ING Direct is continuing to work to resolve this and will be issuing updates via
    the website www.kaupthingedge.co.uk.

We appreciate your patience and we apologise for any inconvenience and distress
    that payment delays have caused.''

Beam me up Scotty!!!      hy....steria........'inconvenience.....distress....' Are they listening at all????
    I have money!!!!:j :j :j :j 31st October 3.30pm. Organised by nice lady from E & Y, very, very grateful.

  • My wife and I opened KE internet savings accounts earlier this year and have our retirement savings in there, still missing.

Our payments were put through on 6 October. I've been so upset and angry about my missing money that I have completely overlooked my wife's missing payment.

And it struck me that KE has overlooked her too. She has had no contact, by email or telephone, from KE. However, she used KE's secure messaging service yesterday around 3pm asking for confirmation she is on the tracing list and for her message to be acknowledged.

No acknowledgement so far today, so she has just sent another through the secure messaging service today asking for confirmation. No response yet.

It occurs to me that KE probably DO NOT KNOW from their own data who is owed money from payments made around 6/7 October. If so, they would have surley informed everyone affected by a missing payment.

I think we should recieve the same terms in our repayment as a bank would charge us if we went overdrawn with permission - unauthorised overdraft rates over 23-odd days.

ING must take responsibility and pay us by cheque now and work out what KE owes ING later.

    What a shambles.

In accordance with Martin's post today it is clear that mony transferred before the 8th or presumably after 14.00hrs on the 7th resides under KE duresdiction which is being handled by the administrators hence the delay, sorry but Martin is right, people in this category including myself will have to wait and hope.

I’m confident everybody will be repatriated with their money but it’s very frustrating that people are put through this torture in the meantime. My thoughts are with you all still waiting.

    Hi Normanb
I didn't have any contact either until half an hour ago (see copy of email above)...and that was despite calling them frequently over the past few days. So I'm not sure how much difference it makes on that front. However, I do think you need to call them to make sure that your wife is on the magic 'spreadsheet'....just for some piece of mid that her existence is registered with them....might not get you any money in a hurry as you can see from this thread!!! Good luck.
