I'm sure the number is made up though!! No-one's that daft.....are they??!!Loan-£3600 only 24 months of payments to go!!!

That's intersting Simli. I suspected as much when the Barclaycard activation number even admitted in a recorded message that the call to the number on the card was for another company, Payment Protection Plan Ltd I think.
Makes me wonder what business they have giving away personal details to third parties such as card numbers and personal information that could be used for fraud. They must have that to know whether answers to the security questions are correct. Are they deliberating exposing customers to risk of fraud to up there sales of insurance?
Or is it all a scam, with the security questions just there as a set up to a high pressure sales pitch?0 -
My First Direct CC didn't need activating....it said in the letter ready to use straight away
Though I have just recieved a letter saying we've noticed you've used your card for the first time and just want to make sure it was you......if it wasn't ring us if it was you...enjoy
I love FDIf you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly
I've only ever been wrong once! and that was when I thought I was wrong but I was right0 -
Why is it so hard to read the PIN no they send you ?
You hold it up and put a bit of white paper behind it and it's still really hard to make out.0 -
I have a button on my phone that disconnects the call in a second, works every time.
I think most phones have them.:D0 -
I wonder when ringing to activate if you could get away with saying "this call maybe recorded for complaint purposes" do you think they will hard sell then?0

I am so stupid then. Got my new sky card (hate sky but that's another story) phoned the activation line several times as i kept getting cut off.......................... now I realise i just wasted my time.
Anyway left the lady chatting to herself while I got on with some work, and then said at the end, no I have it with you already. She seems to think she knows all about me, my husband, and all our insurances, she even wanted his name to check the cover. Do me a favour we have cover - beleive it! (tee hee)
Next time I'll do the honest thing and just cancel the card. (I really do hate Sky)
