When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Today I will:
Will catch up with you all later.

Morning Sophiesmum and all who follow :hello: I've come to the conclusion that I may wear grey woolly socks all the time (they ARE cosy:D ) but my sparkly nature more than makes up for my dull socks
(I wish that were true :rotfl: )
It feels quite Autumnal now, but only 8 days until Popeye arrives :happylove so I have just got to get the house tidy/organised and clean enough so that he doesn't think I've sat on my bum since June (when he was last home) but not so much that he feels out of touch with home
Today I have/will:- signed up for 3 mystery shops since yesterday, 2 for before he gets home, one involving beer drinking for while he's here :beer:
- brought in packed lunch -HM mystery soup & HM bread. Though there's an outside chance we get a company lunch today, so that might be tomorrows lunch

- found petrol at 99.9p last night, just in time, I'd been on fumes for a while
and have a long trip on Sunday. - NSD today, and didn't spend yesterday, though now owe 20p to someone - does that count as a NSD?
- go to gym tonight to enjoy the last free days of membership.
- and then blitz the house with star-drops and microfibre cloths.
- hopefully take back my non-working toothbrush to Boots.....I hope it isn't something stupid I've done wrong

I gave in and bought a latte today for £1.20 (my first of the week though!);
Have brought in a bottle of Diet Coke (which cost £1 for 4 from B & M) rather than pay 65p for a can in the canteen or nearby shops;
Transferred £5 into my new Egg Savings account - not much but it's my opening deposit and I wanted to have something in there that I can hopefully add to;
Got a letter telling me that I'm due a cheque for £3.91 following a banking !!!!-up too which I'll also put in there.
Not much, but every little helps.Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
Morning all!
Today I will/have....- Brought lunch to work
- Using up leftovers for tea
- Done meal plan for the end of this week and all of next
- Written shopping list for the few bits we need
- Just found out that OH has increased his standing order to my account for £50 to help with the general price increases - bless him

- Have transferred said £50 to other account to "hold" to see if I can get by without it this month - if I can it'll stay in savings account for Xmas
- Amex bill and CC bill checked - both payments gone through
- Cancel kennels for Saturday night
- Walk dog for free exercise
Have a good day
