At the old minimum wage you'd get £769.56 before tax and NI every month .
But using the above formula,
5.52 (old min wage) x35 hours x 52 /12 = £837.20 Gross not £769.56
OP’s payslip says basic pay was £796.56 so there must have been an accounting error. Me thinks it’s either the wrong number of hours or wrong min wage rate (or both)….0 -
Worked out what it is.
At 35 hours per week on the old minimum wage of 5.52 gives you a gross salary of £10046.40 and a gross monthly salary of £837.20 and a net pay of £728.30
The amount of pay you received is exactly the minimum wage for a month minus one days (7 hrs) pay. So it's look like your company have decided that you either had one day off sick in that month or started one day after when the pay period starts. e.g. did you start on June 2nd?0 -

Initially thats what i thought but it's not exactly 1 day:
Hence:
837.20 -796.56 (as per payslip) = 40.64 difference
40.64/5.52 = 7.36 hrs difference which would be a bizarre deduction if that were the case.
OP: Are you sure payslip says £796.56 and not £798.56?? (if its 798.56 then yes for some reason you have not been paid for exactly 1 whole day e.g. sickness, a day 'in hand' etc)0
