I know i'm being underpaid...I just don't know how to go about it now.
I don't want to lose my job when I haven't got another lined up...0 -
The only thing you can do is ask payroll really, don't throw accusations about, say you are a bit confused and ask them to explain it.0

Can you tell me EXACTLY what it says on your slip?
Hours? amount? what month it was?
Ive tried some calculations and from what i can gather you work a 7 hour day (1 hour for lunch brings it to 8 - not many companies pay for lunch i might add)
So 7 hours a day = 35 hours
35 hours x 4 (a month) = 140 hours (obviously this is just general, depends on how many days are in the month etc)
so assuming the info you have given is correct i have it that you WORK 140 hours (not including breaks)
so where does the 154 hours come from?0 -
All my pay slip says is...
Basic pay 796.56B
Tax 59.00
N.I 38.01
Deductions 97.01
employers N.I 44.23
It doesn't mention hours worked or the rate of pay per hour. This is Septembers Payslip.
There were 22 payable days in September ( we're paid for ever working day of the month, if we take a sick day it's taken out of the next month ) 7 x 22 comes to 1540 -
35 Hours a week x 52 weeks a year = 1820 hours per annum x £5.73 = 10428.60 p/a / 12 months = 869.05 per month before tax.
So I conclude you may be being underpaid however I doubt it is that.
As your on some sort of semi permanent temporary calculations, holidays etc will influence
I would simply ask your boss/payroll about your query and see their explaination.0 -
can i just ask - what money ACTUALLY went into your bank? was it £798.56?
And why do you have two N.I ? most wage slips show what youve paid in N.I for that month and then a total of what you have paid that year (or since you started with them)
sorry am just trying to figure out your wage slip0 -
sorry... 701.55 the previous month 691 went in i don't have that payslip on me at the moment and am waiting for this months0

In fact the rate was 5.52 until the 30th september so your before tax earnings based on the same calculations would be 837.200
