I am getting one of these for my children, 16 months apart when my 2nd is born. I have asked loads of people walking by with them, and I always hear good things.
One thing I did hear though, was to be sure to buy in the country you reside (I toyed with having relatives from Australia bring it to me as the exchange rate and price is to my advantage if I do so). Many people had to go to the manufacturer for warranty issues, and having purchased it elsewhere would be a hassle!
Good luck! Would be curious to see where you find it the cheapest...

Fantastic pushchair but useless raincover. Went to Devon in October 2004 and spent the whole holiday fighting with the raincover.
I had one of these a couple of years back when I had a 14month gap between DS2 & DD1. Perfect could walk anywhere, get into any shop even went on the bus (admittedly a walk on bus). Only problem we had was when DD1 got older and then DS2 wanted to get out of the front seat and walk so had to lift DD1 out of toddler seat underneath to get DS2 out of front seat and then put DD1 in front seat so pushchair didn't tip up. Normally in a tandem you you lift a child out of either seat and it wouldn't affect the other child (or the balance of the pushchair) in any way.0 -
I have been on a mission to find one of the new P&T sport buggies on the internet for the cheapest price. I am looking for the buggy, doubles kit, double raincover and cocoon.
So far the cheapest I can find is www.babyequipmentcomplete.co.uk which does all of the above including postage for £411.95. But not sure about their current stock levels.
However, if you get the buggy and doubles kit from www.babylandfleet.co.uk for £350 and get the raincover and cocoon from www.babyequipmentcomplete.co.uk for £57, that comes to a total of £407!
Again, not sure about stock levels. I guess it depends on which colour you want.
The above prices include postage by the way.
If anyone can find it cheaper please let me know!0 -
I have the Phil & teds got it when ds`s were newborn and 14 months, best investment made. easy to push with one hand when one wants to walk, normally ds2 goes in the front and ds1 walks most of the way but when hes tired he gets into the back himself lol ( only a few lbs difference in weight) raincover is not the best but it does work, Younger child is not ignored being in the back and you can interact as he only has to look up at you, he has the oppertunity to look around, is protected a little bit more from the sun and elements. Would always tell anybody who was getting a double to test run the phil and teds before any other.
On another note..
The v2 version is the same frame and its details are the only thing that have really changed ie logos and extras. The doubles seat can recline a little, but due to safety testing it is in the process of being put forward for bs safety for use with the v2 frame ( not yet done) instead of just the sport version.
The reason i say this is the doubles seat for v2 is "ok" but the reclining option is such a good thing on the sports double and we are expecting number 3 (due 21st this month! ) so wanted to make it as comfy as possible..
sorry for rambling lol xsus x0 -

Hi, I have a P+T E3 and it is the best item of baby equipment i have ever had! Good value for money as we use it a lot. My eldest has just turned 3 so walks sometimes but not on long journeys or at the shops! Youngest is 18 months and he is more than happy in the back seat. Pushes with a single hand and is so easy to move. (Bit fast down hills with them both in it though!) Brilliant also when eldest is walking as it can be used as a single so saves me buying a single pushchair when eldest doesn't need a pram anymore. Even the resale value seems quite good. I just can't fault this pushchair!True MSE'r -Money Spending Expert0

Can you get a Buggy board on the back of these?
I saw one whilst queueing in the bank the other week.. and thought it was great. My eldest is nearly 2 though, and have baby twins... would this be practical for me?
We take two prams out anyway unless on short trips and we let my eldest walk...
.. but if I could get a Buggy board on the back I would definitely buy one!0 -
My friend has one of these (there is a 16 month gap between her 2 Dss.) She says it is FANTASTIC!!!! Really easy to push and the seat options seem great to fit all the age groups as they grow.
What I thought was really impressive was the fact that, ultimately, it can be used as a pushchair for just one child (when the other no longer needs it!!) - makes it very cost effective IMO!!!!!:money:20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100

I bought one of these when my son was born - I have 14 months between them - and my son is now 3 and I stll have it!! I upgraded from the Version 1 and got the 2006 version - the sport is just the newer version. You can get the Explorer (or E3) cheaper and any spare parts can be get from Out n About who distribute them in the UK and they are very helpful. The only problem I had was that the footwell used to rub on the front wheel but some velcro solved that problem. I would keep it if I had another but I know I will not, so for now it is in the boot of my car - just in case - but I will get rid of it after our holiday when I am sure I will not use it anymore. I would not suggest getting the cocoon for this time of year, the shop was adamant I bought it (at £55) but you really do not need it as it will be too hot and I had my son in the back seat from around 10 weeks of age and padded the seat out at the aides, he used to prefer this to lying down. Someone mentioned the interaction, most buggies are front facing now anyway from when the child is awake so there is not a great deal of interaction but I am always pointing things out and it does not seem to have done mine any harm. My kids used to fight over the back seat. The wheels come off and it can fold very flat, perfect for holidays and a laden car, no faffing to get the double buggy in as well. Invest in the panier bags because there is no room for shopping.
So, I would give it a big thumbs up and would buy another for sure (not that I ever will need one so won't but you know what I mean). Well worth the money - although the one thing I did notice - on the Sport version the bumper bar is quite high up, higher than on the E3 I have and in a small child they can't see over so I can imagine that it is more difficult with the Sport. I noticed it in Mothercare last week. Glad my son is walking else I would have had to have an upgrade, LOL. They are still fetching a good price on eBay and they are so well made I am sure you would get a good bargain on there.0 -
BEFORE YOU BUY - YOU MUST LOOK AT THE ADVENTURE BUGGY
We bought an Adventure Buggy and it is superb.
It is made by Phil and Ted themselves. The buggy you now see in England was theirs, but with some unsrupulous business it was taken away from them. They still produce a buggy which is far far superior - it Brilliant
