Banned from Tesco - 'Misusing Coupons'

Comments

  • I had a random checkout staff member come upto me a few days ago, when I was at the CS desk, and said I am sure you have been banned.

I did not even recognise who it was!! All the security have been briefed about me as well... quite upsetting.

is it the use of the same voucher time and time again? I presume at self service they can't validate (and destroy) the voucher?
Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?

I am slightly confused about what you bought and what coupons you used.

Were the coupons for the items you purchased?
If not, I would suspect that you have broken the rules and that you are not allowed to do this. The fact that you did it at a self-service checkout suggests that you were trying to avoid human intervention.

Fair enough it doesn't say don't do it. But neither does it say don't take an axe to the cash-box and take the money out of it.

Do Tesco have a published policy to say they take coupons when you don't buy the item? If not, I think common sense says that as a rule you can't. And if a cashier allows you to use them then it is goodwill, but to use them yourself is just pushing things a bit too far.

Saying that, I think the fact that the store manager refuses to talk to you is just not on. What exactly have they got to do that is more important than dealing with the banning of a customer?

How do you know all security have been briefed

Apparently vouchers printed off the internet are accepted at the store managers discretion,so if in some way they think you have abused this by using multiple coupons on several occasions, you may be in breach-
  • I spoke to two normal security, and the security manager.

Three of them, knew my name and situation about coupons, which was the only complaint made against me. I was told that it was brought up last night by the Store Manager, that she wasn't happy having me in store.

You seem to be keeping something back.

If you have been coming in each day with a mitchum voucher, for what they deem to be too many repeat visits, they may deem this unreasonable and taking advantage of the system.

If this is the case, they could ban you.

    Is this the case?
  • Another reason to boycott Tescos and tell all your friends to do the same.
They have no consideration for their customers and just lately their food is rubbish too!
  • so you used money off vouchers for products that they were not intended for and got caught. bit harsh on you,but you are supposed to use them for the item on the coupon... i get the feeling you prob do this a lot???

The policy is upto the store re coupons (I work in store/pfs) My particular branch has a zero none tesco coupon policy

You have probs been banned for multiple coupon abuse.

Tesco as well as any other retailer reserve the right on who they admit and serve. They have choosen not to admit you.
