I had same problem with broadband a few years ago, it turned out that when the previous engineeer came to replace the modem did not change the power pack and so hence why it kept going on and off. It took me ages to convince virgin / ntl to send someone out as everytime they did a check it happened to be ok until one day it obviously wasn't. As they had records I had been calling them about it for over a 6 month perod they did offer a fair refund / discount.0
