  • well my phone and my internet is fine and not heard of any problems.
look on their website for updates but cannot find anything.
I'd be very surprised considering the fact its something people are all ready committed to and not neccessary not buying
  • I have internet. I only have basic package tv. should have full all channels plus V+. Not working at all
I am SOoooooooo angry that the website is not giving any info and all the phone lines are not working.

VM (otherwise known as NTL) have been skint for a looong time and have existed purely through refinancing loans etc. At this moment in time though they are still open for business as they have been now for many years in the same financial situation.

Apparently this and other problems were caused by power failures in the Knowsley area .. this from the newsgroups ..
    Hi guys

As you may be aware, we're having some service problems right now that
    are affecting multiple services, including:

    * The status page (viewing it and the ability to update it) along with
some other parts of the website such as selfcare
    * Text news server
    * E-mail (including Webmail) for those with blueyonder e-mail
    addresses
    * Webspace for those on xTW (ex-Telewest Network)
    * Some broadband access problems for those in the North West (xTW
    customers only)
    * Some impact on TV for xTW customers

The problems are also affecting the technical support guys, who can't
    currently post to newsgroups.

Our teams are working their socks off to fix these at the moment and
to restore service as quickly as possible and the good news is that
these services are now starting to come back online.

Apologies for the inconvenience this has caused.

  • Lines were incredibly busy this morning I was on for about 40 or 50 mins. Managed to do the dishes, make breakfast and clean the windows while waiting. Freephone numbers make all the difference imho.
  • My email went off this morning but is O.K. now.
(Including sending my online bill from Virgin!!!)

lately i've been having alot of problems with my broadband service, and now today our virgintv no longer works.

for the last few days at mainly around 10.45am our broadband goes for half an hour then again around 3pm. its poinless talking to virgin as its clearly their service not my computer, modem, cables etc. i understand that sometimes they do system updates but this is unbelievable. we're paying monthly for a service were not receiving and its just soo frustrating as no-one at customer services has a clue

I only use Virgin for my broadband and the one thing that really really really bothers me is that everytime I phone to complain or even ask if they have difficulties they confidently assure me it is my equipment. One time last year they told me that it had to be my router and I spent £100 getting a replacement installed only to see later (when Virgin finally got running again) that there was a widespread problem in my area.

I have made a formal complaint that every time they have problems their website still shows all as green, but they say they can't explain how they operate their ststus page. If I was being cynical I would think that they were hiding the fact that they have so many problems in case people are considering switching to them, so as long as their status page shows all systems green outsiders might think they have a perfect system.

When the email system died a couple of weeks back they kept telling me it was a minor fault (that was after I refused to get my equipment checked or changed), yet the news stated it was a serious spam attack.

  • the customer service team and fault team dont communicate at virgin. awhile ago when my broadband went i phoned up the faults line and the automated message said there was a fault in the area... a few hours later and still no service i phoned to ask when it would be fixed and they said there wasn't a fault at all! and then he proceded to have a go at me after i said i was fed up of all their problems and want to leave, saying if i never let them know about issues how can they know theres a problem (which i have several times!!!)
anyway when the engineer came round he sympathised and said that customer services arn't kept up-to-date with issues and usually give customers wrong info. most times their doing updates but dont inform customers as people would ask for compensation for time lost (especially businesses where a few hours can be crippling). basically theres no real choice but to sit and wait, which is unbelievable frustrating

.....now i have to phone them again today as its been more than 24hours and our virgintv is still out, wonder if they'll tell me nothings wrong again
