I'm sorry Sal.
Only 3.5, did the vet know what caused it?
We didn't do a post mortum, I didn't want him messed about with, it wasn't going to change what happened. He was seemed pretty certain it was his heart anyway, being as he was a male persian (the most affected group).
Its such a shock when its sudden, but better - kinder - for them than a long drawn out illness.0 -

I am so sorry to hear about your sad loss of TED, he looks so lovely.
Hopefully it will be some comfort to know that animals live on in spirit, they do not view death as we humans do either, they live in the moment, so when it's there time, its their time. And I know through personal experience that animals passed to spirit are free from pain and injury.
I understand also when people say 'Its just a cat' or 'Its just a dog' get over it, or buy another! Some people just haven't experienced the love of an animal friend. Just remember you have been blessed by their love.
Animals do - think, feel, mourn and love just as we humans do, they just communicate differently to humans, but the love is undeniable.
It is so painful for us, I know, I have not been spared either, losing three of my furry friends within a year. The loss is tremendous and hurts beyond belief!
One was my 18 year old poodle, many fond memories. Please know there are 'Pet Bereavment Councillors' out there who can help you come to terms with your loss. Just talking about them and sharing memories helps. They are still around.
In my line of work (pet psychic), I am mocked often, but I know without a shadow of a doubt that just as people are able to come through as spirit, so too do some animals, and I believe whole heartidly that you must never feel guilt for their passing, they never blame their people.
Its a lovely idea to plant a tree or shrub in their memory, it really helps to release some emotions. And gives you somewhere to have a quiet moment to reflect on their lives.:A
My heart goes out to all you lovely people who have lost a furry friend.
I send you all my love. x
My money tip: Ask friends, family or a local property developer if they want rid of any trees or shrubs, you can then use them to plant a memory garden for your animal.
N.B I do not take clients off this site, I am here just like you for money saving tips, I am human! (really!) with bills and responsibilities too! And if I can help comfort someone who has lost an animal, then I am here for them.
(Also I am not some weired gothy hippy type, but a normal down to earth lady! heeeee):A *Anything is possible* :A0 -
Would you allow me to use the poem in my new book? Its lovely.

Hi Mrs E
We didn't want a post mortem done either for those same reasons, but the vet seemed to think it was a liver problem or some kind of feline leukaemia.

What terrible news MrsE, my sympathies for you.
I remember reading a post about how you felt about Ted and thinking at the time that you and he were very lucky to have each other.
I hope my dog feels as loved as I'm sure Ted did.

Thank you for your lovely post.
Don't feel you have to explain yourself, lots of us are able to offer advice & help on here to others based on the skills we use in our jobs - thats what you just did:A
Must have been awful for you loosing three in a year.
I don't know if its a comfort you had the others or not because you face loosing them too, which you did probably a lot sooner than expected.
I don't know if it would have helped if he wasn't an only pet?
Probably not, but I don't know.0 -
My heart goes out to you Mrs E. I have been through it several times and it never gets any easier. My 19yr old cat Tessa was pts last year and that hit me particularly hard, I cried for ages and still do sometimes, but time does gradually heal. Bless you.x0

I just read this post and cried
I have a cat, Monty and I was be so upset if I lost him.
I'm sure he knew you were there when it happened and I'm sure he would have heard you, he would have felt loved.
Have a huge hug from us here (yes, it's just me and Monty).Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
So sorry about your beautiful Ted, thinking of you.0

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of such a beautiful cat. He was obviously a much loved member of the family.
Reading your story made me cry - my own beloved puss is now 16 1/2, and he has a few age related problems. I don't want to think about how his death will affect me, but it's something we all have to face at some time. He wasn't expected to live past his first birthday, so we've had many, many more years than we thought with him, all of them happy.
Sleep peacefully, Ted - you were a lucky boy to have lived with such a wonderful family.Mortgage Free as of 03/07/2017 :beer:0
