Hi everyone, I have looked at previous postings and there seems to be conflicting advice. Can I record one channel whilst watching another with a Sky+ box and a freesat card? Or do I have to pay a subscription to be able to do this? The box will not be connected to a phone line, so is this still possible? Simple answers please.

Dont you still have to pay for the sky + feature0

If you have no subscription with Sky but still want to use the recording facilities of Sky+, you have to pay £10/month.
There's no Sky+ charge if you're on a package, their cheapest currently £17/month.Dave. :wave:0 -
You can record 2 channels at the same time whilst also watching something that you have recorded in your planner if you like.
Do you still have sky subs or just pay sky for the record facility £10?You can't be lost if you don't know where you're going.0 -
I have sky package and Sky+ and you now do not have to pay £10 if you do not have their extra packages like films or sport etc.
If i now cancel my sky package and have sky freesat can i still use my Sky+ box or do i still have to pay £10?

scowleress, you'll have to pay £10/month for the + function. Also, not all sky plus boxes have 3 tuners (record 2 and watch 1 other) my thompson 160 only has 2 tuners, i can record 2 channels, but i need to watch one of themUtinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0

there is no sky box that has 3 tuners, 2 is the maximum, which is why you need 2 cables to the sky dish 1 for each tuner0 -
then there will be none which allow you to record 2 programmes whilst watching a third, so I don't feel so bad about lastnight, recording stephen fry and fringe, unable to watch anything else

I think Scowlers wants to know the financial implications, what does it cost to do what and what can he do without paying any thing.
