Could she not have just cut them open with a knife like a normal person? You wouldn't even have to do that, you can always see the needle hole where the jam went in.

Asda have a duty of care towards their customers. Jam has a high sugar content, and by leaving it out they are protecting the customer from becoming obese.

Now that is true customer service.:D

With my previous experience of retail when you hear those words it's never something serious!
Yup, it's always something really trivial that could be sorted out by calling over a manager for a moment.

"This umbrella broke when I opened it, I'm going to trading standards." (before the manager could say, well take another one, they're not all like that).

My thoughts exactly and for what she paid if she was not going to eat them she could have fed them to the birds, I don't think they would mind no jam.:rotfl: :rotfl:

Thats nothing, had a guy in our store today who had bought a toothbrush, then lost it (outside the store) and wanted the store to either replace it or refund it!!!!

And had someone a while ago who bought back a patheticly small slice of rhubarb pie back, that had been labelled as apple and no-one in the family liked rhubarb, when asked where the rest of the pie was, she said well we ate it, we had nothing else for dessert!!!!!

And remember the greatest ever air guitar album a couple of years ago that was advertised as having a free air guitar...someone actually complained as their cd didn't have the freebie!!!!!

I used to work in a tesco IS bakery, and all the donuts that the supermarket sells are bought in frozen, and bakery staff take them out of a frozen box, tray up, bake off for 10 mins and then roll/shake with sugar.

i will never buy doughnuts from tesco if tht is the case!! my mum worked in Morrisons 'Cake Shop' for years and all their doughnuts are made from scratch :) mmmmmmm

oh and to the comment about Tesco Customer Services - i worked on Customer Services at Tesco for almost a year when i was a student - i was never snooty to anyone :(
the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j
