This isn't a request for you to tell us your username and/or what you are selling - I can understand the problems with that. It's just that the unfortunate consequences of not knowing it means we can never get the full picture.

I'm a supporter of Hintza on this one. His quote "to ensure price integrity in the market I'm selling in" is what got everybody going but this is done by businesses worldwide, e.g. Sony using Samsung components in their TVs. An analogy that springs to my mind is car dealers who buy and sell at auction but would still buy off a competitor's forecourt to resell if they decided they could turn a profit.
I've had some nice bargains from Ebay and other auctions as I do research what I want to buy. Some items go for silly (high and low) prices which is often due to how they are presented. Auctions are an excellent way of getting the best price at the time which is why so many Executors' sales use this route. Its interesting to see how auction fever makes some people pay over the odds but they only have themselves to blame.

Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.

    Same here.

Had he not been so honest, and had just mentioned that he would buy something for resale, I doubt he would have got half the stick he has.

It's actually rather hard to see how his action would 'maintain price integrity' anyway.

If there is a market for the item at the price he sells it, then he will be unlikely to be able to snaffle the thing cheaply. If he could, then how would he be able to sell it at a higher price?

If it is significantly misdescribed, to the extent that people who might bid on his auction for a simlar item don't see it, then the seller can hardly be described as a competitor.

The only way I can see he could possibley be doing anything wrong would be buying things and then falsely describing them as being in some way more desirable than they really are, and there is no suggestion that he's doing that.

can someone post the link for checking a users bidding history please. Thanks
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

If you click on 'Advanced Search' in the top right corner of the ebay's homepage, then on the left are several options, one of them being 'Items by Bidder'

    Items by Bidder

  • SORRY A bit trigger happy there -

Can EVERYBODY please remember that Ebay is an auction that is you will only ever sell an item for what people are willing to pay.

If somebody bumps up a price , O WHAT - if you decide to bid a particular price on an item it is YOUR decision not somebody who has bullied you into paying a higher price

What about all the Ebayers seling tickets for Robbie or Take That that cost £35 each and are going for £100 each or more should they be banner?

What about buying a car at a car auction how do you know punters are not bidding up a price - it i san AUCTION all about paying what you want to pay, do not bid if you do not want to pay the price it is going at

In my opinion th epeople moaning about HINTZ are probably the same people who buy an item, pay the postage advertised and them moan about what they have been charged for postage if you do not like the price of the postage do not bid, if you do not like the price of the item do not bid , come on its common sense , leave the guy/girl alone will ya

That's cleared that up then, it's ok to act in the same way as money grabbing corrupt corporate companies and there was me thinking that people on this site were trying to save money & against these price-fixing monopolies..
