  • I couldnt believe it when I read this thread, i had been searching for the tomato puree in sainsburys and couldnt get any, so tried somerfields, they only had tomato puree in the tubes for 40p, but the little tin i was after had a label on the shelf end saying discontinued?, so i am not sure what is going on.

  • Like many others this thread made me laugh. Again I've had that on the shopping list for a couple of weeks. Finally found some on Monday, but was an expensive double concentrate version. No sign of own brand ones around Docklands, London (though maybe that has changed). Oh well.
  • Found plenty at Asda yesterday
  • I went out to my local asda yesterday also. I think i bumped into another MSer :) They were also looking for Tomato Puree.

    I bought 2 puree 24p and passata was 34p i bought 3 of those.
They seemed to have lots on the shelves

    This was in Arnold,Nottingham

  • Happy to report that I found some in Sainsbury's (Watford) last night - only half a box there though. 47p.

    It's not just the puree.

I can't get own branded tomatoes at my ASDA, only the expensive Napolina ones and they are really pricey. Will try again tonight, but I'm not holding out much hope. I usually have at least 4 tins in my cupboards and use them for loads of stuff, but haven't had any for ages now.
