I've been looking for some for a few weeks, I usually buy Mr T own brand -the shelves were bare, tere were a few expensive brand(at double the price). Mr S had afew own brand at double Mr T price. Last week I have to confess to buying the last six boxes at Mr T at about 26p a box, I thought I'd better stockpile!:rotfl:
That is funny as my mum phoned me at work today saying she needs some tomato puree but went in Tesco 's and the price had increased from about 26p to 60p i told her i would check out the other supermarkets to see if they were any cheaper looks like i might have trouble finding some! :rolleyes:0 -
I've been buying my tomato puree out of Lidl as I couldn't find it in Tesco or Asda either, thought it was just me not looking properly.
I stopped buying tinned tomatoes because they have no flavour, well the cheap ones don't seem to have any so I've been buying blue cartons of sieved tomatoes its so much better with plenty of flavour and its only about 39p. I get them out of lidl I think the brand name is Nostra.0 -
I don't use it anymore. I use tins of tomatoes and boil it down for an hour or so. I then add a few herbs.Happy chappy0

Hubby and I have been talking about this for weeks too !
We are Italian and use lots of passata, tinned tomatoes and puree.
Can't get hold of puree for love nor money!
Passata is a case of having to be fast to get hold of it too!
I have been to Asda,Tescos,Sainsburys.0 -
Ha ha - I thought it was just us that noticed too - hubby and I have had this conversation a couple of times! Seems to be a shortage, however, I don't suppose it helps that everytime I see some in Mr Ts I stockpile! The Best Things in Life Are Free0
