    Hi Mardatha,

It's definitely worth it. I have two freezers and could do with a third right now! :D You can read more opinions on this thread:

I think the answer lies in answering the question: "If I didn't buy anything else and we were forced to eat everything in the freezers, how long would it keep us going for?" If the answer's more than two months then you need to maybe eat what you've got.

There are only two of us normally and we have two freezers that are full at the moment.

(I think they are like Shelves and draws. No matter how many you have, there is never enough room)
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.
  • im hoping to get one to put in the shed, just got to wait for hubby arranging to get power to it, so could be waiting a while lol im hoping to get a second hand one out of the paper or somewhere. was thinking about it for a while but after the weather this winter its made my mind up

yes and no. it really depends on your needs.

i have a tall up right freezer and a fridge freezer. both are hardly ever full at the mo. but i've just purchased a new tall fridge. as we have so much fresh fruit and veg and meat each week that the fridge from the fridge freezer just wasn't enough. i very rarely batch cook anymore, because i'm a sahm , so i have the time daily to cook meals. i do have two drawers in one freezer full of home made lentil soup , as i just love it. i've about 30 odd or more portions.

we have another baby due and i'm sure while i'm in the later months of pregnancy i'll fill up the freezer with proper meals. so the family can eat proper home cooked meals with little effort involved. so we can spend more time adjusting to our new additon.

why not see if you can get one on freecycle. see if you use it, and if it benefit's. then if so , replace with a newer one and put the previous one on freecycle.

I have a small chest freezer and a tabletop one which we were given when the friend who had bought it decided it didn't fit in their kitchen. So I keep it in the utility room for overflow whoopsies and allotment stuff. I find that enough tbh...yes, I've got room for a big upright freezer or a second chest one but I think I'd end up just buying and cooking for the freezer iyswim? I like to keep food rotating and not to have stuff sitting in there for more than say six months. Food doesn't go off as such but it does deteriorate as to taste and texture so it's not worth keeping food in it for too long, even meat.

    Hi there

I used to have a large chest freezer and decided to get rid of it. I now have one half the size (family of 5) and am careful what I put into it. Freezers cost alot of money to keep and since its only the 2 of you I would say no.
I usually cook from scratch too.
    Hope this helps.
