I'm definitely thinking about getting one, as must be worth it. I often batch cook, and have little room, in my small combined fridge/freezer. I don't but many frozen foods. Just frozen peas/sweetcorn, oven chips, and chicken. I freeze a lot of fresh meat, but will take advantage of special offers more often in the future, and buy more frozen stuff.

I'm looking for a good value/decent capacity one that doesn't take up too much room.
    Oh well...

Yay, we have finally bought a second freezer. I have been waiting for a good secondhand deal on Gumtree, lots of upright freezers but not so many chest ones. Anyway we found one today, small but not the smallest for £35. All we need now is to get electricity to the shed and I can then stock up the freezer. Really want to make some meals to freeze to make life easier.

  • We bought a new chest freezer recently and it has been a godsend. We are a big family of seven and my fridge freezer space was way to small. l now bulk buy food and freeze any left overs which usually feed my sick mum at the week end and this saves her a few bob. We bought ours from currys for about £99 and it has saved me a fortune l honestly have cut down on take aways and sometimes batch cook so l can just pull out meals when i need them. lf you have the space then go for it its a money saver in the long run.
