Is it worth having a second freezer

I now have two freezers, each a similar size to yours and that is just for one person.
More freezer space is great for batch cooking and for being able to take advantage of offers and seasonally available produce, so they are worth the electricity.
PS: I got mine second hand, very cheaply!31.5/1000 -
I had a huge fridge, and upright freezer. Swapped them with my daughter for her under the counter ones. Much better for both of us!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

We have a fridge/freezer, the freezer section of which consists of four drawers, and it's nowhere near big enough!
I have a spare loaf, frozen peas, mushrooms prepared ready for use, and various other similar stuff in the top, vegetarian "meat" substitutes in the 2nd, HM nut loaf and various tubs of fruit in the 3rd, more fruit and HM ice cream in the 4th, and I invariably end up shoe-horning stuff in, and winkling it round like a Chinese puzzle to get more in. The fruit is all PYO in season, or furkled from the wild.;)
It's always stuffed to the gunwales, and I really could do with a chest freezer as well, but there's absolutely nowhere to put one, as we have only a tiny bungalow, and no garage. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

I hear ya!!:D Although I have a cupboard in an alcove of my front room that has never been used in over 10 years coz there is always something in front of it. The top is clear though and the gap is the same size as a medium chest freezer. Hmmmmmmm........;)0 -
We moved from our old house with a fridge freezer, a seperate counter freezer and a giant (4' wide) chest freezer, to a new house with a narrow fridge-freeze with only 2 full drawers and 2 half drawers. Really struggled for space, since we like to shop in bulk and buy lots of frozen goods. I had to order a chest freezer for my dogs' food anyway so we ended up making room for a large one instead of the slimline one we were going to tuck away neatly in a corner, and I'm glad we did as we regularly fill up both the freezers. Could do with more storage space, eventually we might run electricity out to the garage and stick another freezer out there.0

We have the same as you rubber duck but we have two fridges. Suited us when children were all here but now we're almost to empty nest one could be swapped for upright freezer (no space for chest). Re electricity comment obvs mine starts to have space in between shops. I know i should be filling this space to save on electric, but what with?MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

I save empty 2l drinks bottles and fill with water. Not sure how much electricity it saves, considering it has to use extra energy to freeze the water, but at least I have some spare water to hand if we ever have the supply cut off too (plus in the summer I can stick them on the dogs' beds as icepacks to cool them down)0

I have a narrow fridge freezer that's about 30% freezer space made up of two and a half drawers. It's enough for day to day, but I can't really stockpile more than a couple of weeks of meals (dinner only). Annoyingly, most of the time my fridge is no more than half full. I'd love to swap the capacities around!
Actually if I had the space and money, I'd want this fridge. :smileyhea0 -
I've got a tiny fridge/freezer, the freezer part would be full to bursting if I put four cheap/standard sliced loaves in it. It was virtually empty and I just bought two frozen meals for one - and 1Kg of chips and it's nearly full.0
