Same here lyndasharp - our £16k flat deposit is tied up there too - well, I guess it forces us to wait until we buy in 2009, prob saving us thousands in the process (well, I have to look for some sort of silver lining...)!

I was only asking! no need to be so arrogant about it

If you had left the smiley off at the end, you would have been "only asking", but you chose to get sarky.

    Hi

Like the rest of you I have my savings with Icesave and feel that we do need to keep up the pressure. I would definately be up for the march.

Don't know if you know TV's Jasmine Birttles, she stands in for Martin on GMTV, doing his usual expert spot well she has a website called moneymagpie.com. I went on there today and she states that she has her savings with Icesave. Wonder if she would be interested in helping, after all she must know how to get to the right people.

I'm still quite confident we will get it back, just need to know the big answer WHEN.

Count me in as well! I would hope we can get at least 500 icesavers to do an orderly queue near Tower Gateway else my confidence is shattered.

500/300,000 is less than 0.1% of the total icesave depositors!

    Hi folks,

Just to clarify a few things

    1. I hope we do nothing.

There is no point for action in its own sake. If we havent got suitable info by the 7th (or dont look like we are) then its important to try and organise something.

    2. I am happy to do this (with suggestions)

I am happy (listenting to views here) to organise something, and get permits if needed and do press releases (will need casestudies but am sure many of you will oblige). I have a PR team and we can work on this.

Yet my hope is we'll hear something this week from the FSCS if not then its time to turn up the pressure cooker.

    Martin

The shame of it is that the extra money that I made in Interest when I transferred from Nationwide has been lost since the bank's collapse. We now stand to lose even more interest while we wait for our compensation.

Don't get me wrong - I am over the moon that our money is safe, I just wish it could have been transferred to ING or Northern Rock to keep things simple.

I read in the Daily Mail that some interest will also be paid out.

Can anyone confirm that this will be the case?

The mainstream media has gone quiet on Icesave for the moment. And I'll be honest, when I've wanted to talk about the issue at some outlets i've been told its 'not interesting' as things have moved on.

This now explains this morning, on GMTV, when Martin was discussing PPI for Loans, I was thinking "!!!!!! ? There are so many other things other than PPI that need to be talked about right now"

    Makes sense now

The FSCS has been activated for Heritable I wonder if any of those people have got their forms yet. According to the FSCS website they should be receiving their forms this week. It might give an indication of how smoothly the process will go.

AFAIK, Heritable is being handled totally differently, in the same way as Kaupthing Edge - the deposits have been acquired and are being handled by ING, so no direct claims to the FSCS are required, at least in the majority of cases.
