I have posted this one before but loads of different recipes - just beware as an American site many of the measurements are in cups:

Being something of a culinary novice when it comes to these things - how big a cup?!!!
Is there some sort of measure it equates to or do you just pick a mug/tea cup and stick with it?
Apologies to sound a bit blonde on this one - I've had a google but there seems to be some confusion as to how much/big/heavy it is!0 -
Hi charlies-mum,
Martin has asked that we don't post duplicate threads as it can cause confusion, so I've moved this thread over to the Christmas board so that it can be merged with your other one.

Cooking Measurement Equivalents 16 tablespoons = 1 cup 12 tablespoons = 3/4 cup 10 tablespoons + 2 teaspoons = 2/3 cup 8 tablespoons = 1/2 cup 6 tablespoons = 3/8 cup 5 tablespoons + 1 teaspoon = 1/3 cup 4 tablespoons = 1/4 cup 2 tablespoons = 1/8 cup 2 tablespoons + 2 teaspoons = 1/6 cup 1 tablespoon = 1/16 cup 2 cups = 1 pint 2 pints = 1 quart 3 teaspoons = 1 tablespoon 48 teaspoons = 1 cupThis is off one site I googled, However I sure I read somewhere that as long as you use the same size cup throughout recipe it will be fine - I suppose how much you want to make is a factor in this.
I have also found this on wikepedia

I think someone on the Old style board may be able to give a definitive answer though.0 -
Thanks Pink,
Sorry, promise I won't do it againYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
I made this today and its divine - very sweet though but I don't mind that
I got this recipe here at the Craftster website.
Super easy microwave fudge
Ingredients:
1 can sweetened condensed milk (large size)
1 pound (3 cups) chocolate chips (I used 4 packs of Adsas chocolate chips - 38p a pack)
Materials:
Microwave
Microwave-safe bowl
Foil
Something with vertical sides for cooling the fudge (I used a 8 inch square cake tin)
Directions:
1. Place milk & chips in bowl.
2. Microwave on high at for 1 minute, then 30 second intervals until chocolate looks melty. Stir. If it’s still not completely melted, then 30 more seconds (etc.)
3. Line whatever you’re cooling the fudge in with foil.
4. Pour, chill completely, then cut into pieces.0 -

Hi All
I've gathered some recipes for homemade sweets but am having trouble finding suitable presentation packaging. The websites online all seem aimed at business buyers, selling in hundreds of units.
I'm in London, so if you can recommend any confectioners shops or websites please do let me know.
Thanks in advance.0 -
