You cannot give a specific answer- some claims are over in a few days, others drag on for months (and indeed years).

There will be two excesses (and claims) if there are two proximate causes- i.e. was losing the 2nd ring an inevitable consequence of losing the first ring?

Well, I have had a call today from a lady at Goldsmiths where I had to describe the rings and then email some piccys over (though the pictures werent good).

Both the rings are lost as I always take them off together, be it shower, washing up cleaning etc and they are no where to be seen, I think my little boy has had them or maybe the cat, I am still praying they turn up. The lady on the phone asked if I knew there was a £100 excess so maybe the 2 rings are going as 1 claim???

Maybe you should ask them because we can't tell you how they're treating your claim(s) ;)

I only put the claim in on Tuesday (or was it Monday) so I suppose nothing is going to happen yet will just have to wait and see. Have looked and looked and cant find them anywhere - I know they have gone which is so sad as I'll never see them again and they meant so much to me. I suppose it teachs me not to be so careless with things.

Ival are still processing my claim - but I have found the one ring (not my engagement ring). I have left a message for someone to call back to advise that this has been foudn. Now I am worried whether I continue to claim for my ER and then find it once a replacement has been sent, or dont continue and dont find it and be out of pocket.

What would happen if I do claim and find it in future?

It had somehow jammed into my little boys remote control car controller. This was on the fireplace which I had looked at and moved but obviously I had lifted up the controller and put it back down (without looking underneath) and only noticed when I gave it to my little boy and saw something glittering underneath. Luckily it has bent it or anything. No sign of the ER though

They usually turn up when you stop looking ;)

Start looking for something else. Pretend you have dropped an earring and search around the fireplace and in little one's toy box. I always find lost things when I'm looking for something else.
If little one is old enough to understand then turn it into a game. Who can find Mummy's ring first?
I'm lucky my son has his own handbag and if I can't find anything (like my house keys) 9 times out of 10 they are in his bag!

I hope it does show up.

I am just worrying that if I claim and then it turns up I might have the fraud squad onto me, ha ha - but if I cancel the claim and it doesnt show up we'll be out of pocket buying a new one.

My little boy is under 2 and doesnt really understand - OH reckons hes eaten it or fed it to the cat!
