I'm trying not to get disheartened - I do want to make this work, but it seems impossible at the moment! It's off-putting when lots of the other girls are doing well (not that I'm not happy for them).

I know these things do take time, but I haven't even got my first six parties.

I felt exactly the same as you. There were only 3 guests at my starter show and I only made about £70 but since then I've only had 3 shows and made the £800 in my first month for my brite start. I am finding it difficult to book shows but after putting a plea on my Facebook status I have the promise of a show in June. I am thinking of holding a show myself during half term and inviting some of the staff at my girls' school, who I am friendly with.

So I wouldn't say I'm doing fantastically but chin up and I wish you luck getting started.

I've decided to throw my own party during half term. I don't expect many people will come but I thought if I make the focus on it being a good old fashioned girls night in and no obligation to buy then they might turn up.:rotfl:

I have thought of a few different people to invite too so you never know!

why not do mystery hostess night!

This makes it fun for the guests - basically you tell them everyone who comes along will go into the draw to see who gets to use the hostess credit, you can do another draw for someone to get the hostess specials, and then you can do another draw for someone to win the treasure island special so this makes it fun and all your guests can win things as well!:j

    Candlegirl thats a fab idea
  • LOL I was too tight to do that for my guests - I wanted all the credit to buy wax for my gifts I then give to them when they are hostesses!!!!! Also didn't want them then to decide that they wouldn't hold a party as they had ahat they wanted - BUT the next time i do this I am going to put them into a draw for hostess credit as will use it as a hook to get people to cpome along - think though that quite a few people i know will hope to win as would love the free product but still wouldn't dream of hosting their own party!"

I have to admit I'm with Marsbarcake on this one and am going to be selfish about it. I also kind of think if they don't want to hold a party for me and I have to do all the groundwork then I should get some credit. Plus I thought I'd put on my invitation that with every purchase you get a free gift because they'll get the tealight sampler won't they!:p

Got to agree when I was new I wanted all the credit to myself to I could get new products - but now I use my gift certificate's for sponsoring and I can then afford to give away the hostess credit.

If you are struggling to get people to come to your home party then I would to the mystery hostess as does create more interest and will help you.

    Good luck girls

  • Hi all I haven't read the whole thread as haven't the time, but just wondered for partylite is partys the only way you make the money? Or can you sell online and through word of mouth instead? I have previously done ann summers and wasnt too keen on partys mainly due to confidence. But i am good online with ebay, facebook, and word of mouth etc.
Plus i go to mums groups etc.
Can some please pm me with info and i would be more than happy to give you my email address if you can email me pictures of the start up pacage etc. thanks.

Heya, how you all doing? Just wanted to let you know, I brought a laminator on friday to laminate the booking gift leaflets and one hostess and guest offers for each month etc and I managed to g3t one from Argos for £11 something, was there cheapest most basic one, and when you brought it yuou got half price laminating pouches. so I got 25 pouches and a laminator for £14.81 or something. Have just used it ready for my party tomorrow and its absolutely FANTASTIC!!! I would reccommend it to anyone.
