Another question, do you have a business account for the partylie stuff or just a normal separate account or just use your normal one?? I want to have at least one account where i put the percentage each month that I think I need to pay in tax so I dont get a big bill at the end of the year which I can pay. Sorry for all the questions

Did anyone have any opionions on this? Im going to use just a normal savings account I have for the tax I put to one side. But wondered if its best to get a separate account for all day to day business sides. Noticed on the hmrc website it said to keep bank statements as proof as well as receipts invoices etc. Dont fancy keeping all my personal bank statements to send of to them, as loads of irrelevant stuff in there. But not sure whats best. I have tried to book onto one of the half day free courses the hmrc do for people starting up self employed so hopefully thatd be soon and help.

Sorry again for asking so many questions. Want to do everything as right and as best I can
  • Hi Cheeky

you don't need a business account you could just open a personal one and use it for business - i'm using an old account i hardly use. If you want a business account most have charges attached but abbey do a free business bank account i use them for my other business

Sorry I have another question lol.

If I want to make a consultant order, how much do I have to spend to waive the P&P or is that charged no matter how much you order? Alternatively can you add a consultant order to a party order to save on P&P?

you have to pay P&P no matter how much when you make a consultant order

you wouldn't want to add a consultant order to a party as you wouldn't get your consultant discount.

If you have orders from people who havn't had a prty then you could add these to a party order but have it delivered to your house so you get the extra orders. Alternativelt you could add the extra order to the party order as a gift certificate then the order can still be sent to hostess but you need to call Ho to get the gift voucher no then redeem it for the original order and get that dekivered to the persons house - hope that makes sense!

    I've been Money Tipped!
I have my first party for a friend next week. I'm not worried about the party or 'selling' the products (I find that easy), but I'm not sure about getting bookings. I do like the idea of offering a free gift when someone books (and holds) a party, but I don't really have any money to buy them. Would I be able to get them on the discount and how would I do it?

When I first started I didn't have the money either so what I did was wrapped some tealights and some votives and gave them away.

Also you don't need to spend alot of money - a girl in my region showed me how she always got multiple bookings - she went to £1 shop, and morrisons/tesco and heres 2 options she did:-

nice mug, with very small box of choccies (like lindt ), packet of hot chocolate (single one), candle lighter (long one) and few tealights all wrapped up in nice clear film.

plastic wine glass, small bottle of wine ( 3for £5 from morrisons), very small chocs (as above) and a few tealights all wrapped up.

So you can basically have 3 gifts for about £10 - Im always on the outlook for special offers etc and pick them up with my shopping as I also do snatch grab raffle to make some money on the night and this is the money I use for my presents.
