Is anyone else going to Cumbria? I'm very excited about it!!Murphy's No More Pies Club Member No. 680

Welldone Mullberry yum and Maddie . Sounds like you are getting off to a flying start !! Conference is fantastic , a real boost and you come away with so many feebies . The atmosphere is electric . I just came back from our regional gathering . Really inspired . We are doing a "Relay Robin". We were split up into groups of 5 leaders and each leader has been challenged to get 5 parties booked into Feb , by phoning etc , but you have to wait until you get a phonecall from the person before you , then you work on getting your 5 ,then you ring the next person in your team and they work on getting their 5 bookings . The team who completes their challenge first is the winning team and gets an award.
This should be great for building business . I got 3 booked in already , but I am waiting for a phonecall from the person before me . Unfortunately if someone doesn't get 5 bookings in your team the chain is broken and your team loses the challenge. Fingers crossed we all come through0 -
Wow - that's fab candlesrus. Good luck with your team getting all 5 each!!Murphy's No More Pies Club Member No. 680

Hiya ladies
I'm reeeeeally struggling to get bookings. Ive got 10 confirmed to come to my first party (the one that Im the hostess at) but no one seems interested in the slightest about hosting their own. Ive explained it would be totally helping me out & about all the benefits and NO ONE is bothered!! Seems that people will come to my house to eat all my food and drink all my drinks but no one wants to do it in their own home.
I dont know how to persuade people - any tips? I feel like Im totally letting myself down, I really want to be sucessful at this and Im trying so hard & just feel like Im getting no where. I dont want my leader to think Im crap too.
Please - any tips? Im really struggling!!

Hi yellow
Just to let you know you're not the only one - I couldn't get people interested enough to hold their own parties, which is why I gave up in the end.
The only tip I can think of (which is one my leader gave me), is to put it across in such a way that you're doing them the favour by doing the party for them. People don't like to think they've got to make any effort.
You might find attitudes change once you have your starter show and people actually see the products.0 -
One tip that someone gave me once is that is you take your business really seriously and other people will too. They will want to book with you because you are really good at what you do and if they don't they will miss out. Put you parties on a planner so they can see it ( i do mine on an A4 sheet) look prof and smart , be reliable . Like liz says , dont let them think they are doing you the favour . You are giving them the chance to have a great night in with friends and get £££££ worth of free products for nothing . On the night of the party assume that lots of people want to book ,when you address the group say phrases like
" Now I know there are lots of people who want to book a party tonight... but if you want to book into the first two weeks of february to get the extra commision I need to stress that I am already getting booked up quite quickly and I only have a couple of dates left so dates will be allocated on a first come first served basis "
This phrase works for me because it plays on the "fear of losing out" or missing out on an opportunity. You will be surprised at the difference it makes . It comes accross as confident rather than desperate0 -
Thanks for the tips, Ill try that
Ive been telling people about the february offer and about the comission they get as hostesses but they just dont seem bothered... I think that at the starter show people will start booking, its hard when you dont know the products, but I just feel like Im letting my leader down iykwim.Savings target! £6000 by May 2015
