  • I spend £0.81 on the ingredients for 2 wraps stuffed with Caramelised onion hummus, plum cherry tomatoes, gherkins and a few leaves from a round lettuce.

  • Around £3 a day at the moment in the work canteen, though I am trying to be better at taking my own packed lunch.
  • Sounds good to me ! I can spend anywhere upto £3 at lunchtime (im a mature student) and to be honest the food choices are not healthy on campus.
  • Less than £2 a day as I usually work from home but could be £5-£6 if out on the road at service stations and forget to take a pack up!! :(
  • This sounds good I spend £2-£3 approx on lunch some days this would come in handy.:T

Well my lunch at work yeaterday was left over chilli: Big pack of mince £3.99, cooked with a lot homegrown onions, celery and carrot (almost free?) then split 3 ways to make 4 and a bit servings of chilli by adding tin of kidney beans, aduki beans and 2x value toms + home grown chillis, 4 servings cottage pie by adding loads of mashed potato ( have run out of homegrown by now unfortunatley), and about 2 serving of bolognese/ lasagne by adding tinned toms and Italian herbs and some nutmeg.

I'm sorry it's a bit too difficult to work out what my left over chilli cost me but less than a pound anyway I'm sure!

Edit: I'm going to school today with my son on the 'bring your mum for school dinners day'!!!!
    so that'll be £1.50

If I make my own lunch, it probably costs less than a pound. It's the days when there's nothing in the fridge and I have to buy lunch which are costly - £2 to £3 a day.
  • too much! probably £4 or £5 on average.

    When it's a packed lunch I spend under £1 but when I buy a sandwich it's about £2 with £3 for a treat!

    Good luck everyone!
