I'm out and about at work so it depends (if i'm out I can't eat a baked potato for instance!) but I always take lunch with me - usuals are:
pasta, pesto & peas 55p (30p for 50g pasta, 20p for 1/5 jar pesto, 5p for a few frozen peas)
a wrap with soft cheese, ham & cucumber 65p (20p wrap, 10p bit of cucumber, 20p slices of ham, 15p portion soft cheese)
peanut butter sandwich & pack mini raisins & apple 43p (15p bread, 10p peanut butter, 8p raisins, 10p value apple)
baked potato & beans 35p (10p potato, 25p half tin beans)
My biggest triumph is getting DH to take his own lunch. When I met him he used to spend around £7-8 A DAY!!! at M&S which included a salad, smoothie & tray of prepared fruit. Now he takes a wrap or pasta like I do and buys a big carton of smoothie to last the week and a bag of apples/oranges etc.
I would love a kit, I do often take leftovers too (if we haven't troffed them first!!)Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -

I've just started a new job where they have a subsudised canteen ( very cheap) but not as cheap as hm cheese topped rolls (8p for 2) and hm weetabix cake (10p per slice) and an apple (12p) and a bottle of tap water (free), so roughly about 30p - 50p:j

It used to be £5 a day from the deli across the road (such good paninis) now its about 50p as I make a huge batch of soup from the weeks leftovers and can make 5 portions. Much better for me and i think i've lost a bit of weight :j0

I have recently gone from buying lunch everyday at a cost of around £3-£4/day to packed lunches for around £1 a day if not significantly less - not quite at the stage of homemaking everything yet but I'm getting there...cracking open some homemade chutney for my sandwich tomorrow which cost 50p for 4 jars :-)"According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way that a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway. Because bees don't care what humans think is impossible" Bee Movie 20070
