My BT bill is full wack as is my ISP bill, I get nothing for free and have always paid the full price for many years both on and off income support. Like I offered to the previous moron, anyone want to swap my life for theirs just for a freebie they're totally welcome to it.0

They're not classed as an income based benefit0 -
What a cheek !.....Why should people on benifits get cheap BT.
Dont they get enough already. What about all the hard working tax payers.
Next it will be free food and fuel....in fact i think they do.
Think i might leave the country, come back with a different passport and claim the lot !
I wont go on any more, this makes me so angry.
You think people on benefits get free food and fuel and are rich :rotfl:0 -
i just asked for application form for bt basic as thought was good idea, then reading into it more, wondered myself if it was worth it once spent £1.50...allowance regarding the 10ppm+ call costs after that!!.... also we do have BB, i share costs with my son....( only way we can afford it)....BT basic is separted from BB and the one bill i have now, to end up with 2 separate bills...is it really all worth it in the long run? nothing saved re mobile call costs...family & friends...evening /weekend packages....maybe i just changed my mind..!!0

I have justed signed up. My last quartely calls charge with BT was £5.01 with Rental of £30. I can reduce my calls even further to accommadate for the inclusive £4.50 worth of free calls and thus slashed my Rental in half! :money:
We use the Wifes Mobile contract (all free calls except premium rate) to make all calls barr the premium rate. RThis will work for us.
You are breaking the T&C of BT Basic by doing this. In particular:The following conditions exclude customers from being eligible for BT Basic service:
- where the customer or anyone else in the customer's household has a contract mobile phone (one where bills are issued and payments are made in arrears), or a mobile phone with high "pay as you go" usage where high usage is defined as more than £10.00 per month on average (chronically sick and disabled customers will be exempt from the mobile phone exclusions);

See the benefit payments deposited in their banks? They exchange that for free food and fuel.
A family of four with more than £800 per month after housing costs is rich (or at least not poor) in both absolute and relative terms, regardless of what the campaigning special interest groups say.0 -
The benefit haters always make me laugh.
Those on benefits are legally entitled to what they receive and then the haters come spreading their hate before nipping over to another section over the board to see what they can get by hook or by crook.
Same specie, different packaging.
What was a thread trying to help those on low incomes, turned into those who aren't, crying their eyes out because they couldn't get their dirty mitts on something they'd usually go to any length to extract out of a company like BT.
One day, the haters may just become one of the people they hate on.
If the offer suits anyone and you are eligible, best of luck to you. Personally, I'd find it very restricting, especially with 10p per minute after the first 15 minutes, but as long as you spent no more than an extra 60 minutes on the landline (after the initial 15 minutes) per month, then it would be worthwhile.
For very light users only!0 -
Perhaps strangely, I mostly agree with Miroslav. (My only disagreement is I see no hatred.) What is being addressed is the injustice that only certain classes receive help (or subsidy from other customers) and that in a great many cases they are richer than those who don't qualify.0
