Or indeed use your own domain with a Gmail account.
You also have the excellent functions within gmail, which has an excellent anti-spam function (for any stray ones that get through), and also has POP3 and IMAP access so you have the options of access via various email clients, and more than one machine synced together.0 -
Another vote for this method. You have the flexibility of a domain name so you can set up different emails for different companies (to nip any spamming in the bud), and you can re-direct it to any other service in the future.

It says whatever you want, depending on possible restrictions by whover you use for SMTP server. I could send emails appearing from atlanticflyer@atlanticflyer.com if I wanted."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Thanks for such a speedy response! I am a complete techno novice so what would I have to do to be able to get my emails say they are from atlanticflyer@atlanticflyer? Many thanks.0 -

Depends on what you use for email, but typically under the account settings and user information it's whatever you put for your email address (not necessarily same as your login/username)."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I have just created a gmail account and it will allow to add a respond to email address so I can call that atlanticflyer@atlanticflyer but when someone receives the email it will predominately say atlanticflyer@gmail. Am I being a little dense? What would I have to do?
JUST FOUND MY BRAIN CELLS AND FIGURED OUT WHAT I WAS DOING WRONG. Thanks for your help.0
