Have you all forgotten what state you were in only a few short hours ago? Personally, even now with my money 'safely' back in the Halifax this is the last thing on my mind. I agree with you entirely. The bold part of what you said just reminded me that the ones that are potentially moaning about a big loss of interest are largely those that ignored the £50k limit and were lucky enough to get away with it.

Night all. Really hope you manage to sleep. Still checking up on you all and fingers crossed. It's gutting having to wait till friday - time will seem to drag but hopefully it will all come good and will eventually all become a distant memory (instead of continued nightmare). It seems a bit better now there have been some more official posts (thanks) but only once the money is in your link account safe will everyone feel relaxed.

Correct me if I'm wrong anyone, but I was under the impression that if you had a fixed-term deposit, then, on maturity, the deposit plus the interest it had earned would simply be added back to your easy access account.

If that's right, then KE / ING wouldn't have tried to pay it back to you unless you had specifically asked them to close the easy access account, or asked for a withdrawal.

Have we misunderstood what you were asking?

Still - now that the payment difficulties have happened, personally I think it wouldn't be a good idea to make any more withdrawal requests until it's all died down, unless you're really in a hurry to get the money soon.

Such complications can result in delays........but it will be sorted out......

So relieved to find that our combined CHAPS transfers of £63K (requested on 8 Oct) are back in our A&L accounts sometime this afternoon. The girl I spoke to on Saturday did say funds would arrive today but I was beginning to think that was just spiel. I am confident that the CHAPS fee and interest will follow in due course too. I'll be keeping printouts of today's credit along with KE transfers so there is clear evidence of how many days worth of interest is owed.

However, far far more important than this will be what happens about the ICESAVE compensation payout - we also have £50K+ frozen, like many of you out there.

Well done to everyone who is at last seeing their precious money again and good luck to those of you still waiting. I feel sure that ING mean what they say and it will all be finally sorted by this Friday.

Although this has been a dreadfully worrying experience the support by this Forum, Martin and his team have been unbelievable and kept many of us from going insane with worry. Thank you all.
