It's just arrived!!!!! Money transferred by CHAPS 8th OCt just arrived in my Abbey account!!!

I can't see anything tricky about that, frankly. I even left enough money in my account to cover extra costs and ensure that outstanding interest could still be paid into the savings account.

I quite agree that it should be straightforward but way back on October 8th (page 3 of the old discussion thread) there was mention of all CHAPS payments needing manual checking before they were sent. Perhaps that is why ING chose to leave them til last.

Hello people,

Just joined MSE today and wanted to add my contribution.

Have been trying to withdraw £50,000 since 01.10.08.

CHAPS requested Wednesday 01.10.08 failed.
CHAPS requested Thursday 02.10.08 failed.

I rang them to be informed there had been a technical glitch in the system. Received a call on the Friday from KE head office to advise they were investigating the problem.

Monday 06.10.08 attempted a BACS transfer - failed.
Tuesday 07.10.08 rang KE again. Was informed that this time they do a manual free CHAPS transfer - failed.

I then of course learnt of KE's difficulties on the evening on Wednesday 08.10.08.

BACS transfer 09.10.08 failed.
BACS transfer 17.10.08 failed.

I have made yet another CHAPS transfer request today (20.10.08). I will not hold my breath.

It has now been almost three weeks since I first requested transfer. I needed the money urgently then, so you can imagine how I feel now.

I hope IMG resolve this soon as this has been a nightmare.

All - Great News. My CHAPS payment has FINALLY arrived in my Lloyds TSB account, this was made (CHAPS) on 08/10 in the afternoon (noted down as 09/10 in the KE transactions page). I'm so relieved. I have a feeling everyone will be getting their money in the next few hours now...

This has been a long painful process, I am so happy though and will be following this thread to see whether others are starting to be reunited with their money...

Let's just hope that this is the first of many. I seem to recall a lot of payments coming through around 2.30 on Friday so keep your fingers crossed!

£10,533 transferred on 8th Oct , has arrived minus another Chaps (£20) fee. Total is £10,513.

I WILL NEVER TRUST "ING" EVER AGAIN.

Come on.....Lets see the rest of the Chaps flowing........ PLEASE!
