Just received my Chaps payment from 8th October. That's one less to worrying about. Understand there's an Icesave announcement on Friday.
  • Well it seems to have gone very quiet, so I will bid farewell and see you all tomorrow for another roller coaster ride, hopefully full of glee !!

Well - both of my payments came through today; one which was scheduled for last week, and the other which was only due today anyway. So - looks like things are getting back to normal. :)

The first amount is an amount I would have withdrawn anyway, even if it wasn't for the troubles, because I was hoping to use it to pay my rent. But then I admit I requested a withdrawal of another amount in fear that the same thing might happen next month too.

It hasn't escaped my attention that the Kaupthing Edge easy access interest rate is still the highest rate for no-notice no-withdrawal-penalty accounts, matched only by Egg's latest with-bonus offer. So I plan to do a few low-value test transactions over the next few weeks, both withdrawals and deposits, with both Kaupthing Edge and Egg, to see how reliable they are. If Kaupthing Edge gets back up to speed again, and ING don't drop the interest rates too far, I might put some of what I've just withdrawn back in.

Thanks ever so much to everyone who has posted on both the threads, it's been really helpful. And I hope that those of you who are still waiting won't have to wait too long.
    :p
  • Didn't realise it was in administration at that time.

I probably started the transfer the day before, didn't hear about the problems until even the day after.
  • Got my money transferred to my linked account 10 days after transfer initiated. :T

Has anyone approached Kaupthing/ING about compensation? My linked account went overdrawn when the transfer failed to take place withing 3 working days. This transfer was not a panic measure and attempt to draw out all funds, but was just a normal transaction to cover money set aside to pay bills. Trouble is with it being delayed, it caused the linked account to become overdrawn. I feel it only right that compensation is paid for the account going overdrawn. I telephoned and spoke to a Kaupthingedge/ING rep and was told no decision had been made on compensation (yet).
