    Hello

I am on a dmp with the cccs but my situation has changed, at present I am paying £720 a month but have had a pay rise of Approx £160, but I am also starting a degree course in Jan which is going to cost approx £230 a month (for jan - may then break until sept). Will these course fees be a problem with the cccs or the dmp? it won't affect my income as the course is outside of work. I'd rather find the extra £70 and not say anything than the option of losing all the money to the dmp and not do the course.

I am looking into funding/ bursaries for the course but it's not looking likely.

    Thanks

    Hi
I am in the process of changing over to CCCS from a fee charging company. I had the approvel from CCCS(yesterday) and awaiting the paperwork to complete this. I have cancelled my payment to previous company on the advisors advice(via the bank)but I've not yet written to them to confirm this.
My question is, that today I have received an Enforcement Notice from LLoyds to pay them the full amount outstanding by 14th dec.
Should I ask CCCS to help me or the other company
    Many thanks
    T

    Hi there,

The letter that you have received is a general debt collection letter. You can pop it in the post with the information that you send to us.

  • Hi there,
I can't seem to find any financial guidance that relates to my son's situation - he has debts somewhere in the region of 30-40k mostly from bank loans, and to a lesser extent credit cards. He does not have a regular income since losing his contractor job (no redundancy) and has no assetts. He is hunting for jobs and might get the odd week here and there. He is renting a place (£1000 p/m) and now is getting into desperate straits. Unfortunately, I no longer have resources to service his loans anymore.

Would you know what his options are?

    Thanks,
    Ann

    Hi Ann,

It is difficult to give detailed financial information via these forums, but you could either get your son to give us a call regarding his financial difficulties, or he could use our online debt advice facility Debt Remedy to find a way forward.

He can contact our helpline on 0800 138 1111 between the hours of 8am and 8pm. It would help if he had details of his income and outgoings to hand. If he would prefer to use Debt Remedy he can use this link.

    Regards,
    Amanda

Hi I have a question on behalf of myself and one on behalf of my ex husband -
    1. I have a bank account with A&L and have store cards with santander - can they take money out of my current account to pay the santander cards as they are all the same company ?

    2. my ex has a car loan and his car is essential for his work as he is an outreach social worker - what happens to this loan when he starts his DMP - is he allowed to keep paying this in full as it is essential ?/
    thanks

    Hi chinawhite,

The answers to your questions are as follows:

    1. I have a bank account with A&L and have store cards with santander - can they take money out of my current account to pay the santander cards as they are all the same company ?

It is very unlikely that your cards will affect your account. They both have different computer and banking systems and I doubt that they communicate between the two.

    2. my ex has a car loan and his car is essential for his work as he is an outreach social worker - what happens to this loan when he starts his DMP - is he allowed to keep paying this in full as it is essential ?/

If the car finance is Hire Purchase (HP) then we would prioritise the loan; if he does not pay the HP then the car could be repossessed. If it is just a bank loan then there is no repercussions, as far as the car goes, to including this on his DMP.

  • Hi CCCS people - I wonder if someone can help me as I'm constantly going around in circles via the phone and I'm getting ready to scream!!

I sent a fax last week marked as urgent as advised by a CCCS person - apparently they haven't got it and I was given the wrong number to fax too. I'm getting mightly harassed by creditors who are not happy about having £1 nominal payments 5-6months after Ii said I was going to CCCS for help. I'm getting court threats and alsorts.

Could someone please help me out?!?!

    Hi there,

    Hi 7062,

    Thank you for your post.

The loans that HSBC offer you are based on your circumstances and your credit rating. There is not a lot that you can do if they have retracted your previous offer.

The main thing is that you pay your debts at a rate that you can afford. If you are on a Debt Management Plan, you can get this service totally free of charge. We offer a DMP at CCCS that has no set up fees and no monthly management fees. This means that all of your available income will go to servicing the debts that you have outstanding.

As far as your credit history goes, anything that is put on your credit history, a default for example, will stay on your credit history for 6 years.

If you would like to have a chat with one of our debt counsellors you can call our helpline on 0800 138 1111. The counsellor will review your budget and your situation with you and advise you on ALL of the options available to you to deal with your debts. Alternately, you can use our online debt advice facility called Debt Remedy buy using this link.

    Regards,
    Amanda

    Thanks Amanda,

I've called today and have an appointment booked for a week on Thursday to see if CCCS can help. I'm currently paying a management fee of £38 per month on my existing DMP so if CCCS can help, I'll be clearing my debts much quicker.

    Thanks again.

  • Hello, this is my first post on the site as I have a problem which requires a level of expertise that is above my abilities. I have managed to succesfully navigate my way out of in excess of £40k unsecured debt and find myself at about £16k remaining. Of this £16k, £9k is interest free £10 pound per month set ups (spread over 4 companies) so this is no problem.

The problem is the remaining £7k. The problem is that it is rising by the tune of about £30 per month and has been doing for years.

It is owed to a vulgar company by the name of Link Financial, previously known as asset link.

Back on the 16- Aug- 2001 I had some double glazed windows fitted, the amount of credit was £3k, a joint financial agreement was entered into by myself and my then wife.

Within 5 months I lost my job, my wife and I seperated and I got hit with a CCJ as I couldn't pay any of my debts. The CCJ was for £5 per month as I was absolutly broke and on the verge of bancruptcy owing in excess of forty grand.

I managed to avoid bancrupcy and as previously mentioned, over the next 8 years have really pulled my life together.

    BUT..

These asset link...sorry link financial people have decided that although I could only afford £5 per month, they would be adding about £35 of interest each and every month between then and now.

Every so often I have recieved a letter from them entitled 'Statement of notification of interest' in which they remind me that interest continues to accrue on my account in accordance with the terms and conditions of my origional loan agreement regardless of the fact that my account is subject to the terms of a ccj. Also, we would not suspend interest on this type of account. interest will continue to be charged until the debt is paid. However, we will limit our claim to a sum that is lower than the amount we are entitled to claim under the contract, charging the amount that would have been incured if the account had been paid as per the original terms of the agreement on time each and every month.

I got a statement through the post today showing that I now owe £7361.40.

My ex wife has never paid a penny towards this joint debt.

    Help..Please..
