Hi, my dmp has been setup and the 1st payment to my creditors are to start this month (through cccs). I'll be paying the trans cash tomorrow and sending off the direct debit slip.
I have also setup a new bank account and have my wages paid into there.
I've just had Barclays on the phone regarding my current account/overdraft and a unsecured personal loan both of which are included on my dmp.
This call was very friendly and helpful. The chap I spoke to has put into place a temporary 2 month agreement to stop further charges going onto my overdraft. and has requested that I pay £25 each to the overdraft and personal loan and has changed the expected payment date to the 4th of each month. After the 2 month period is up, they will contact me again to see if any changes in my personal circumstances have changed.
Looking at the dmp letter from cccs, the recommended payment from what I can afford is £22.94 for the overdraft and £63.03 for the loan.
Unfortunately I hadn't noticed this when speaking to Barclays.
So to my questions.
A) Is there enough time to make sure the payments are received by Barclays on the 4th December, assuming that I make the trans cash payment on the 5th November? Is it possible to change the amount of payments to them. (i.e pay the £25 for the overdraft and reduce the loan payment to £60.97)? An if so how would I arrange this?
Many thanks for your help0 -
Hi folks
am entering the last phase of starting my DMP...NatWest opened me an account real quick even though I applied on line and sent stuff in per post so I can now get my salary paid into NatWest from December. I have pay day advance cheques that will come off my existing BoS account soon. I can't roll them over again as I know I am about to close the Bank of Scotland account. What do I do? Close the account with the Bank of Scotland right away after paying my DDs for the month? ( my salary is paid into the BoS for last time on Friday I have overdrafts and a small loan with them) and advise them of these cheques I can't stop? The Cheque place will present them no matter what.

Hello,
I would recommend that you give CCCS a call as soon as possible, when you say your account has been locked – has your dmp already been set up?

all my credit cARD PAYMENTS DUE IN 2 DAYS TIME. WHAT DO I DO AS I HV NOT yet received pack from cccs maybe for the postal strikes. terrified of my lenders, no courage at all tp call them that i cant pay. when will DMP begin then, will cccs suggest a date in the pack coming. but dont know ow to live on day to day if i dont use cards as got no other means until new accounts start working and salary oges in there and i follow the dmp. desperate for quick advice. its so frightening
You will need to cancel your direct debits for your debts and make them a token payment – even if this is only £1.
Have you now received your pack? If not give us a call if you need our number send me a PM.
I would recommend that you give us a call anyway, you seem quite worried about the process so I think you would benefit from speaking to a counsellor.

Hi, firstly want to say a big thank you to the team at CCCS. I am 2 years into my DMP and your help has been brilliant.
My question: Is it possible to get car finance while in a DMP? I don't have any savings and I need to travel 25,000 miles a year as part of my job (company only gives cash allowance, no car option). What are my options please?0 -
Hi, We are going to court today for a hearing with SCM/Lloyds for a debt in my wifes name.
She is very worried & wants me to speak on her behalf if they will allow it as I deal with all the details under the DMP.
We have been paying this debt back for sometime under a DMP where initially the payments were agreed but after our circumstances changed we had to drop the payments somewhat.
We received aCCJ form from northampton county court and we replied within the time but offered the payment that we could afford and also sending the proof of our income and expenditure to back it up.
SCM refused our offer and wanted £40 per month instead of the £9.21 that we can currently afford.
We then were told that we had to pay £35 to get it looked at again £35 which we did not have spare really but we had top pay it.
Yet Again SCM refused our offer, we then sent a letter for reditermination fo the amount and that is what the court hearing is about today.
Is there any way that we could get this CCJ set aside as we have been making payments to them regularly for the last 5 years ( during that time odd ones have been late and possibly 1 or 2 missed over that time due to no monies available).
Any advice would be appreciated greatly as I have to leave for court at 11 am today.
We have got a copy of the original cca and are in no way saying that we do not owe the monies.
Regards,
Simon0 -
Thank you!!
My new bank account with a completely 0% overdraft has been approved so soon i should be able to bank without the vicious fee cycle and finally start putting things right.
I contacted payroll and explained things and they have agreed to me continuing to pay as i was when i was unemployed, thankfully as i had been paying them before i started working for them again they appear to have faith in my ability to pay them and that i will not just dodge the balance.
Thank you for your advice!!

Clicked the GO AHEAD to processthe DMP with CCCS.
(1) How long before I get my welcome pack ?
(2) Shall I prepare copies or anything so I can return it all with the signed agreement ?
(3) When the agreement and copy paper work has been sent back - what does CCCS do ? Do they send letters to all creditors asking to stop interest charges and agree for the reduced monthly payment ?
(4) What happens if a creditor doesn't agree the deduction OR stop the interests ? because I wouldn't want CCCS paying the reduced price, because the balance would be going up surely if the interest charges are added on top ?... what happens
(5) Can I withdrawe at anytime ?
(6) If I paid £300 per month and the money was split and a credit was then cleared, the additional money is paid against another ? - statement CCCS provide should match to the statements off the creditors ref to payments made ?
(7) I have a loan.... by doing this DMP, it reduced the term by 7 years. The DMP is just paying the monthy amount but as other creditors get cleared, can extra be paid against my loan ? if so cool and if the loan is paid off early, the origional balance would evenutally be less, due to paying it off earlier ?
(8) - DO I NEED to send any letters to the creditors ?
(9) - I pay all my creditors on the 1st day of each month... WHAT happens or what do I do if CCCS are not ready to make the payment... ? READ that people have send a goodwill payment with a letter saying what doing and that to except the goodwill payment until CCCS have got themselves up and ready... is that true, but how would I know if CCS were rady or not.... and what letter would I need to send GOODWILL PAYMENT if i do AND HOW MUCH ?
So many questions.... but I just like to know in advance so I can be one step in front and everyone gets paid and happy like me!....
It hasn;t started yet but I do feel alot fo weight starting to lift off my shoulders......
What experiances has people had ? good or bad.....
Thank you
SO really I need to keep a file of CCCS statements of how payments are split and a file for the creditors to make sure the balances match.
(1) How long before I get my welcome pack ? Should be with you in a couple of days depending on postal strikes.
(2) Shall I prepare copies or anything so I can return it all with the signed agreement ? yes
(3) When the agreement and copy paper work has been sent back - what does CCCS do ? Do they send letters to all creditors asking to stop interest charges and agree for the reduced monthly payment ? yes we will send them proposals, so this will be a letter and a copy of your budget.
(4) What happens if a creditor doesn't agree the deduction OR stop the interests ? because I wouldn't want CCCS paying the reduced price, because the balance would be going up surely if the interest charges are added on top ?... what happens. The key when offering reduced payments is to treat your creditors equally. Even if they are not accepting the reduced payments, sent it anyway. If generally takes a couple of months for your creditors to settle down. But as a DMP is an informal arrangement they are under no obligation to stop the interest and charges.
(5) Can I withdrawe at anytime ? Yes
(6) If I paid £300 per month and the money was split and a credit was then cleared, the additional money is paid against another ? Yes- statement CCCS provide should match to the statements off the creditors ref to payments made ? We take the balances off the paperwork you send us, so from time to time these may need updating on our systems. For this you can just send us the statement and we can update it from there.
You would need to treat all your creditors equally, so if you do have any extra money then this shoulf be split between all your debts.
(8) - DO I NEED to send any letters to the creditors ? When you receive your paperwork there will be a letter called ‘notification of debt management plan’ you would need to send them this along with a token payment
A goodwill gesture is whatever you can afford, even if this is £1

Hello,
If the car is worth about £2000 then this is likely to be classed as an asset. You could speak to the insolvency service and see their views on this.

leemuddywaters wrote: »Firlst hello all, recently found this site and have found it be a great help.
Im about to start my battle in getting 2 defaults removed from my credit report and would appreciate all input and support possible as its effected my life for the last four years.
I left the UK in 2006 to live in New Zealand and left a large some of money with a family member to place in my bank account so that a loan payment would be covered with Egg (starting balance £4000) and also a credit card (balance of only £250). I returned home two years ago to find out he had taken the money and my loan had defaulted and also the credit card with capital one.
I have paid the capital one credit card balance off completely as it was with DCA, it is showing as satisfied on my report but still as a default, and the Egg loan has a balance of £3000 as I have been paying the DCA for the last year.
The thing is both of these were taken out in 2005 and defaulted in 2006. I have seen examples of template letters going down the route of writing to both companies asking for proof of default letters? Is this the route to go down firstly? Or should I write a nice letter to Capital one initially asking for removal of default as that debt is settled?
I am recently married and my wife and I want a mortgage soon, so the clock is ticking and I want to start doing everything I clean to make our lives a lot better.
Hope some of you experts out there can point me in the right direction and I appreciate any input.
Thanks
Lee
Hi Lee,
Thank you for your email.
I’m not too sure if you would have grounds to have the default removed. Generally creditors will only remove the default if they have made an error. In your case they sound like they have tried to take the payment and it was not their.
I would recommend that you seek legal help about this.
