i have decided to scrap the DMP idea as i am now managing my money better and have manged to negotiate payments with two of my creditors but am having a problem with one of them.
can you give me any help or advice as to being able to negotiate with them. It si Welocme Finance that i am experienceing a problem with - they didn't engage with me in writing as requested when i sent the original DMP to them.
Can i ask them to look at the account from Head Office rather than the local branch?
any help would be welcome

Hello
Can anyone tell me on what basis CCCS works out what money someone can have to pay for things like food etc. My plan is up for review and I am already finding it difficult to stick to the budget that was 'allowed' by CCCS. I don't want to get out of paying my debts off - far from it.
Thanks in advance

Hi there,
I am currently on a DMP which was originally taken out with a company called Debt Matters, I have been on the plan now for over 18 months and it has just recently been passed onto a company called Harrington Brooks who I think have bought Debt Matters out. During the transitition it has become clear that I am paying a £27 monthly 'Management Fee' I always knew there was a fee but not that much!
Due to the advice from helpful MSE members they have reccomended I move to CCCS as there is no 'Management Fee'. I just wanted to see if it was possible to move my DMP to yourselves and if there would be any implications with my creditors or current DMP handlers? My main aim at the moment is to get debt free as quick as possible and without paying a managment fee every month and I also want to increase my monthly payments, this will obviously speed things up,
Thanks in advance.0 -
Wonder if you can help? We started our DMP in JUne, at first it was fine, but since my work ours have been cut & a few bills have risen. we are really struggling, we have debts of £49k & only pay £411 amonth so it will take at least ten years to be debt free.
I struggle with food, spend £50 tops for 2 adults & 2 teenagers, coul;dnt afford trainers for my daughter this month (she had some birthday money so luckily was able to buy her own) never eat our or auy anything for ourselves, myself & dh both had birthdays last month & got about £5o each & it just went towards household expenses.
I am at the end of my tether, very depressed, both my kids need clothes but I donbt have any money to buy them.
Some people on another thread have suggested redusing my cccs payments but i wondered if this would be possible, as when i inititally did the on line debt remedy after i put down all my expenses it came up with a figure of £350 a month left over but said this would be a low start dmp which i was advised against to we tweaked our expenditure to get it down to below a ten year debt free date (silly eh!! especially as i have lost about £60 a month wages & bills gone up £60 a month since)
Can you help at all?

Hi
If a creditor got a charging order against me would I have to sell my house or would the order be paid off when I eventually sell the house.
My mortgage is up to date as is my secured loan, all my debts are unsecured.
I've also got my mother living with me and she's got Alzheimers and would be classed as vulnerable.
Oh, yes forgot to mention we're living in Scotland so I know the rules are slightly different here.
LGetting there, slowly but I WILL be debt free before I retire :dance:0 -

Hi spendthrift66 and thank you for your message
The guidelines are based on the British Bankers Association.
The reason for the review of your DMP is to update your budget and discuss any changes to your circumstances.
So,if you are struggling to make ends meet and finding it difficult to stick to your budget, then discuss this with your counsellor at the review. They will look at any increases you need to make and they will update your budget and advise you accordingly.
Regards

We don’t have the facility to be able to simply transfer your Debt Management Plan from your existing provider as you would need to have an appointment with one of our debt counsellors first. If the counsellor is happy to offer a DMP as a result of your appointment, we would then discuss with you how to end the current arrangement you have and setting it up with ourselves. CCCS does not charge for setting up or administering a Debt Management Plan.
If you would like us to take a look at your situation to see what options you have, you would need to book a telephone based appointment with one of our trained debt counsellors by calling our helpline on 0800 138 1111. Lines are open Monday to Friday 08:00-20:00. It would be helpful that when you call you have details ready regarding your income, expenditure and creditors, as this can help speed up the referral process. If you have this information ready it may be possible to refer you directly to a counsellor if one is available, otherwise we will arrange a time that is convenient for you to be called back for an appointment.
Alternatively, you can use our online electronic facility called Debt Remedy. Debt Remedy will assist you in completing a financial statement which includes information on your household, employment, income, expenditure and debts. All this information is used as a basis to determine the options available to you to deal with your situation.
Once you’ve followed the process through and completed all the required information you will immediately be presented with an advice booklet, which will provide tailored advice for you based on your current circumstances. It will also provide advice on ways you may be able to improve your situation. If you would like to get immediate advice on your situation, click here to go directly to Debt Remedy.
Hope this helps,

Hi icecube2009 and thank you for your message
I would advise that you call us as soon as possible for a review of your situation. If you carry on struggling now that your income has reduced and your bills have increased, your situation will get worse.
The counsellor will update your budget and then discuss with you whether a DMP is still the best option or whether there may be other options you could consider.
