Please dont bother upgrading your speed. It simply isnt worth it. Speed depends on an number of factors, one of the most important being the server at the other end i.e the webserver of the website your trying to load. I'll bet your 2mb link isnt fully utilised at present so why mapy more? Incidentally, it is impossible to leave VM. They dont allow customers to leave. I rang them to try and leave recently and they insisted that instead of paying £18pm for my 2Meg BB,i pay £6 pm and stay with them.0

Transfer rate will be a lot better, with VM as long as you aren't in an over-utilized area (awaiting fix) you will get virtually the speed you pay for allowing for overheads.
As for the ping, that's not likely to alter.
I can tell you there is certainly a big difference between 2Mbit and 10Mbit.It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Again i would say that it is dependant on the speed of the server you are accessing. If it isnt sending or it is sending it slowly or sporadically, then it doesnt matter how fast your line is. I have a 2mb line from NTL. Most of the time it is idle as im waiting for remote servers to send.0

Exactly and I am always telling people this (my line of work, so should know myself), sadly most people don't grasp the idea, these are the type of people who also use P2P and can't grasp it doesn't matter if you have a 20Mbit line, if the person the other end only has an upload of 0.5Mbit that's all they will get from them at most. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... Virgin were charging us for 20Mbit and we were only getting 2mb when I did one of those online tests. Rang them, they sent a new modem and now I can get 10mb so downgraded package to 10mb.
I can't say I notice it being any better now but pc does have a bit of a virus at the moment. They did explain that the wireless router (sp?) we have affects the speed we receive aswell. I might downgrade again to 2mb.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0
