I don't mean to be grouchy but it upsets the dogs soooo much kids keep calling at the door (especially Bruno, he's partially blind and very scared of strangers, he was a rescue dog) and they bark constantly for at least half an hour afterwards
That ain't working! That's the way to do it, money for nothing and TV's for free ;)

  • I prefer when I was young (!) it was just good old British Bonfire night, and admit although I get into Halloween for the kids it's all a bit commercial and American for me, and I absolutely do not approve of the teenagers begging at the door! One year I had eggs thrown at my car as I was driving, scared the hell outta me and I nearly crashed, didn't realise it was eggs as made such a noise. I jumped out of the car and chased the gang of youths, and to my horror caught one even though I was in Halloween party garb with five inch stillettos! Held on to the struggling young man for ten minutes before police arrived, he was crying, but my OH reckons it's the stuff of his dreams now! LOL!
But there are dreams that cannot be,and there are storms we cannot weather!

Nicky - I have nothing against halloween but do think it's strange the message trick or treating sends to kids - it's ok to go and knock on stangers doors and ask for sweets? Especially seeing as the kids round us seem to be without any adults when they do it.

Bucks - loads of luck, hope everything goes well.

RCB - massive decision considering what happened before but I'm sure you'll do the right thing.
Life is all about the journey.

Cool! Good luck bucks! and RCB, I don't blame you for being reluctant to go through that again. If it's any help, I am an only child and I had a really happy childhood, I got on well with all my cousins, so they were kind of siblings. I wasn't overly spoilt and I think I turned out okish ;) The only thing I do find is I really crave my own company, if I dont get time to myself I get really scratchy lol
