there will be a little cover underneath (about 4/5 inches by 2/3 inches) held on by one or two screws
undo that and you will see the ram (looks just like the pics on crucial)
there will be a lever at each end that you sort of pull away from the RAM and it will slowly lift out....then pull it out and push in the new RAM
It will only go in one way....just make sure it goes all the way in
That simpleIf you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly
I've only ever been wrong once! and that was when I thought I was wrong but I was right0 -
its a HP g7000 CTO.
Watched how to fit a ram on u tube .lol and think i could manage.:-)
I tried system restore but it sets new recent points all the time and doesnt let me go very far back in time. When i run it it says an error stops system restore completing!
Thanks again for all your help . x

Did you take note of post #5?
Here is the RAM that you require. Of course as Crucial UK is the same price, you can equally purchase from them.
As a precaution, download, install, update and run a Quck Scan using Malwarebytes' Anti Malware. At the end of the scan choose Remove Selected.0 -

Have you utilised the Malwarebytes program?0

It's an integrated chip that isn't designed for 3D performance, the rating is always going to hover between 2-3 regardless of how much RAM it has.
The best thing you can do is to ensure you've got the latest driver for the chipset installed. I've just had a look at it appears to be the Intel Q965 Express, HP's driver is nearly a year old whereas Intel's is dated August 2008.
If you can download GPU-Z, run it and tell us what information it is reporting then we can make sure you get the correct driver and you may find that helps matters.
With regards to the recent slowness, can you go further into it. What slowness, is it opening up applications, start menus, toolbars, right clicking on desktop/icons, or is it more the case that everything has slowed down, you're getting a lot of the blue/green donuts? What have you installed recently, have you upgraded any software? Do you keep many programs open at once, especially in the system tray by the clock?0
