Easy answer Thomas 99. Get your girlfriend and/or her Dad to choose the car!0

Take a March 2007 onwards BMW 5 series for a test drive (520d or 525d for a bit more refinement) and then make your own mind up which one is more fun.0

Look Thomas 99, you tell your girlfriend that you have always been a good old home boy, and if she won't let you buy the Nissan Micra of your dreams, you will continue to make do with your old bike!0

E200 Elegance 15,000 miles £16,700 petrol 2007, or
E220 Avantgarde 13,000 miles £17,700 diesel 2007
Which car will keep the value the best and cheapest to drive?
Thanks
So long as they're both autos, they'll both hold their value well. That age of Mercedes is much much better built than anything between 1995-2003.
Personally I would go for the diesel based purely on the mileage that you do, and the fact that Mercedes diesel engines are very well regarded. I know of an E300TD on 450,000 miles with no engine work.
Do not buy a manual Mercedes btw. You'll never be able to sell it.0 -
We have an A6 avant (auto), it's a stunning car, I would highly recommend it.Debtfree JUNE 2008 - Thank you MSE:T0

I do appologise, I love the looks of Audi's and keep test driving them only to be so dissappointed by the driving experience. It's like a beautiful leggy blonde who turns out to be bad in bed, such a tease.0 -
OK, this is going to sound really stupid, but i've got to say it....my girlfriend & dad are going to help me with some money to pay for the car. She is Asian (Indian), i am English. She wants me to buy a Merc!!!!
Of the two, I would definitely get the diesel version, there's very little difference in performance, but noticeably better fuel economy.
