Which acc's can be opened directly online ?

Like many I have attempted to open a few extra accounts.

However, many upon completion want me to send docs etc. or wish to send application forms making the process take about 2-3 weeks.

Egg were no prblem. Opened online in 5 mins.

Any others open online like Egg but preferably paying monthly interest ?

Thanks

Eggs normal savings account offers monthly interest but at a lower rate (not sure about AER).

Tried First Direct? Intelligent Finance? Ice... (:D)

Kaupthing Edge, took a couple of days for it to be opened after I applied online.

B&B Internet Saver was easy, applied, opened online, then got sent a single letter with some sign in details.

IF needs to have forms sent back to them (plus id if they ask)

Both should be Monthly interest, B&B lists it directly, and IF lets you chose when opening.

My experience with B&B was not so good I'm afraid.
I spent ages online filling in my passport and driving licence details (amongst other stuff) but at the end of the process they want the originals by post.
Quite apart from my reluctance to send that sort of thing by post, I wanted to open accounts with a number of banks to spread my risk at that rate it would be Christmas before I get enough accounts opend and my passport back so I can go on holiday!

    Are there banks that offer;
    • Decent interest rates
    • Decent service
    • Instant access
    • Easy opening?
As I recall, KE were rather good at all four but sadly no more (No, I didn't move my money in time!)
  • Birmingham Midshires esaver... good rate of interest too...

    Skyt,

    This is exactly my point.

They would be better to say on their site "Phone applications only"

To go down the road of inputting all the info only to be told that you have to send the originals is crass. Smacks of Noddyland.:rotfl:

Norwich & Peterborough Building Society have an E-Saver giving 6.30% which includes a conditional bonus at the end of 12months.
    Doesn't pay monthly interest though.

Opened very easily and quickly online and they don't require ID documents to be sent.

    Skronk,

Sorry, I was responding to Steeve, who seemed to have a different experience with B&B to me, rather than disagreeing with you. Frankly it would be quicker to walk down to the High Street to open an account.
