Gotto echo pervious poster here.
I had a problem with my laptop and they expressly warned me to back everything up before having it picked up.
I know this was the infor stuck on a poster on thje tesk desk also when i went in to report my fault also.
It Sounds a whiole chinese whispers thing going on to me.

Even if the hard drive has been formatted you may be able to recover files, you can download the trial and scan the drive to see if it can find any files, and if it can you can purchace it or it is available for free if you look
