Lapland New Forest Scam. How to get money back...

Gomer: sorry to learn of present difficulties with the Feeble Safety Authority. How surprising. . . not.
Hopefully Dorset Trading Standards is having better luck with the Office of Fair Trading, seeing as how Lapland New Forest Ltd drove a coach and horses -- rather than a sled and reindeer -- clean through the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading, and the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts, Regulations, as well as several more.
Lisa: the husky situation is unfortunate for those involved but they'd do well to be a little more circumspect. Though they may have a trader's claim to make against Lapland New Forest Ltd, they'd be better doing it via a solicitor than via the media. Having already been quoted about how their reputatiion has been "completely trashed", this latest comment -- that though they contracted with Lapland NF for "expenses only", they're nevertheless out of pocket to the tune of £000s -- isn't actually helping them.
On the subject of legal eagles: hopefully the one being consulted by Dorset TS is amongst the speediest rather than amongst the slowest in the nest. The sooner TS follows up on its stated intention to "look into the question of prosecution" with news of an actual prosecution, the better.
The present situation -- no arrests, no prosecution pending, and legitimate claimants like MSE's willgiles having delivery of their Signed For claims flatly rejected by Lapland New Forest Ltd -- is completely unacceptable.0 -
Codger you've got it slightly wrong there. According to Private Eye it's actually the "Fundamentally Supine Authority".What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

There were some remarks made earlier based on little or no knowledge regarding the dogs and as Gomer opines and with which I agree, wonderful as these animals are they have little to do with Christmas. But nor does Lapland, and I have no idea where the notion that Saint Nicholas (Santa Claus) originated there.
It is documented, however, that a Saint Nicholas of Myra convinced two thieves to return their plunder, giving rise to the secret giving of 'gifts'.
Worryingly though, Saint Nick became considered the patron saint of thieves, pawnbrokers and bankers. The worry is that in this case he is patronising all three (don't forget Mr mears golden touch from earlier) elements that made this disgraceful mess in the first place.
Not useful information but a diversion.

Private Eye are being far more conservative than usual in that explanation and a more precise expansion of the said acronym is in hislop hysteria.
Unfortunately it is neither polite nor allowed to post this but it is along the lines of f!!!! stupid a!!!!s.

The reason I followed up my complaint to the FSA with a report to the FSO was a concern that the FSA would be limp. The FSO will have less sensitivity when it comes to ruffling feathers, I sense, and will be impartial in looking into matters. Not that there is any guarantee that they will act, but I imagine that certain bodies have been alerted by the kerfuffle and are just looking for a chance to dig into this whole affair.
Multi million pound ventures appearing out of thin air four months ago, headed by a man with 'previous' and carried out with the competence of Fred Karno gives rise for concern as to the rigor (mortis ?) of the oversight. Multi million pound business ventures don't start with a 'How do you do - sign this form' and 'Here's your cheque book'.
Why did people trust this event ? - because it was allowed to wear the garb of a respectable enterprise, is the simple answer.
How did that happen ?0 -

Substitute the word "event" for the word "Government" and it's quite surprising, how your question has so great a political resonance. . .

Funny you should say that. From this week's Private Eye:-Substitute the word "event" for the word "Government" and it's quite surprising, how your question has so great a political resonance. . .
"The controversial 'Brit-Land', which received thousands of complaints from disappointed visitors who describe it variously as 'being shabby', 'an overpriced rip-off and 'nothing like it looked in the brochures', is being closed down......"What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

I went into mourning when Ingrams retired.
I know things are different and as their wine taster, Titus A Drum, I am more aware of this than many (when lucid).
But to cut to the quick Gomer is a venerable fount of knowledge and should be recognised here.
